MP9 - Digital Pocket Video Recorder

Brief Intro
My little MP9 spy camera pen, which I stumbled upon at my favourite DS Cart/Goodies/Cheap Fun asian gadgets place you probably all know or should know: Deal Extreme

Personal Review

Easy to use just press and hold the button until you see a light at the back and attach it on and you are ready to go.

Here are some videos I took at Defcon Paintball. Granted they are not the best quality and when you run too fast you get the wind blowing in the mic making you sound like a UFO.

I attached this onto my goggles and found it to be quite secure. Though when I rendered the video it felt like "Cloverfield" and in low lights it is terrible. This camera is better to be used when set down as it records the sound a little better but still not superb.

Overall Review

Price: 4/5
Ease of Use: 5/5
Build Quality: 4/5
Picture Quality: 3/5 (Need well lit enviroment)
Sound Quality: 3/5
Usefulness: 4/5
Overall Rating: 76%
- Also keep in mind this score is in comparison with other small video cameras which are quite hard to find that are inexpensive and easy to use
- A Decent score for such a small camera with sound recording capabilities

Conclusion

If you are looking for a cheap and inexpensive way to record your Airsoft games and you don't really care for superb quality then this is your best choice. But if you are looking for very smooth and very nice quality then go for the Tachyon XC Action/ Helmet Cam

Sure no problem.

Funny thing is back then if it was my DVD camera I would have been like "maybe some other time" since I would have to record on the DVD then place the files on the DVD from the camera then take out the DVD and into the PC and convert it into a video and then post it on youtube.

But this little toy... it is so easy, just tape it, pop out the US,B check the video, maybe add a few titles and witty remarks and on youtube it goes within the whole hour

Which is like $28.75 CAD (Estimating that the dollar has not fallen that bad)

And also its great for Car accidents cause last time I was in accident the guy totally fudged and faked the whole report when I saw it at the Collision Centre, he drew the picture of me hitting his car when he actually hit mine.

Luckily the damage was apparent that he hit my car and it pretty much voided his claim, but the it would have worked out faster if I had the Vid cam as well as his vulgar yelling and bribing. Good eye for the collision centre cops.

So how did you attach it to your helmet/body?

Hey Skladfin check the top post! It looks way better if you view it from your own computer but when uploaded to Youtube the quality is almost halved. I assume its because I did not edit it. But that is raw footage from USB to Comp

I'm not too sure what else you want me to say...

I would believe its quite intuitive for people to understand.

If you really want details...

All I did was use the silver latch of the pen and attach it on the goggle strap. Or you can use tape and stick it on a helmet.

What more do you want from my life guys?

Yeah the quality for such a pint sized camera is good enough, yeah I wish the frame rate was better. Cause if you run too fast all you see is a blur.

Of course not comparable to my previous DVD camera or the Tachyon head cam but with this I stick it anywhere on the battlefield or my head and not have to worry about it getting shot.

swatt13 February 1st, 2009 16:54

lol, thats was my question too tho.

Also you can stick it in the ground or a sandbag and it will stand upright no problem. Won't sag or fall, stands tall and the frame rate seems to be more stable if you just stick it into something and the sound can record better since you won't hear the rubbing of the pen on my goggles or anything

Now I have not tested it with a BB shot and I don't think I can trust the integrity of the China Made thin metal to hold.

But its thin enough to have troubles actually shooting it on the battlefield. Though if you are able to shoot it from across the field I advice you to join CAPS.

Yeah I read that part, my fault for not being specific - was gonna ask how you attached them to your goggles.
