Are these the foldable/take-down type?

Conscript November 27th, 2008 01:35

If its made in China, i'll pass.

Nothing beats Canadian or American made bikes.

I wonder what type of components that bike has, I'm guessing low end shimano? Hopefully it's still ridable :D

They were an option with the trucks in the US. More of a novelty item though than an actual bike you'd want to ride, "look when I open up the tailgate there's a matching folded up bike I never ride".

I may get myself one. I like the idea that I can put the bike in the trunk when I go to camping.

JTF27 November 27th, 2008 11:53

Personally I wouldn't like to be riding a bike with the possibility of getting shot while carrying 70 pounds of gear. But thats just me.

That's hilarious.

And when enemy opens fire, you just jump off the bike and shoot back?
Bike is bulletproof? :p

FOX_111 November 27th, 2008 13:05

Seriously, I've been contemplating the idea of showing up with my bike at a milsim. A whole squad on bike = fast response team. Nothing would beat that!

Brian McIlmoyle November 27th, 2008 13:08

Bicycles were used quite a bit in both WW1 and WW2 for various uses.

Courier.. is one obvious example.

For transporting Light infantry from rear areas they make a lot of sense ..

Most of soldiering is spent moving from one place to another .. out of contact .. actual fighting is much less than 10% of the time even in a hot zone.

Moving troops under their own steam but faster than a walk is an excellent use of resources.

Don't discount bicycles as military transportation..

Jayhad November 27th, 2008 13:09

That parts list is SHIT, but that's what you get for $300
