What do you mean by an "end". like a deans connector, or did one of the cells come loose?

He means like a deans connector, except he uses molex style mini. Or.. "tamiya" mini.

How did the connector get cooked? Was it from the amperage flow while running the motor or something else?

I've seen more than one small connector get cooked (especially with large batteries). Usually happens after a while...the sockets and pins of the connectors get opened up and loose. If the wires/pins move back and forth in the connector it's even worse. I believe that it essentially shorts out.

You can use a small screwdriver to close up the sockets a bit...but they'll just loosen up again.

If you switch over to deans, they're super tough and have a really positive contact. The only downside that I've had with them (and it's kind of a +ve depending on the setup) is that the wires leading to the connectors are stiff (they are usually tinned with solder, at least that's how I do it) and so if you need to fit them at a tight bend, they can be a pain. (e.g. in a crane stock)

Cooked can also mean melt the shi out of it.

Happened to me more than once.

Option 1 : You can just have the same thing back on. If you want, I can do it for you.

Option 2 : You can install Dean's Ultra in the place. I can also do it.

Option 3 : You can go between both and put a large tamiya connector. It will take a bit more to melt, but it's not the best around. I do.
