My TM Hi-Capa 5.1: Episode 2
Well I lied, no Hi-Capa here yet. Redwolf's Fedex is faster than whatever eHobby uses(Fedex is probably faster than anything else anyhow). AS SV frame, and a Nova Trigger ATM. Hopefully with the help of Brian(ILLusion) this will turn into something interesting.....

eHobby uses Airmail. So probably 7-14 business days.

nice, loving the full length guide rails. I'm guessing the slide will be a limcat with the compensator?
|
yeah, but I might try something else too out of my parts bin.....see if I can make something lighter and doesn't look like shit...lol
But the Limcat will be the primary baseline... |
End of the week, and sure enough I got the gun...
http://www.supercars.net/pitlane/pic...3/3330056a.jpg http://www.supercars.net/pitlane/pic...3/3330056b.jpg http://www.supercars.net/pitlane/pic...3/3330056c.jpg The stock gun allowed me to investigate an issue with my SV. I've long noted that the cool front grooves of that gun does not lineup properly with the frame, and that they sit a bit forward. After looking over the hop-up unit I think I know why....notice the little round protrusion beside the barrel on the new hop-up. http://www.supercars.net/pitlane/pic...3/3330056d.jpg I've since then swapped that new unit into my SV, and it did line up the grooves(will supply pic later). I figure for this build that feature doesn't matter much, but on the SV it'll make it look better.... About 40 mins after I got the box opened, the gun turned into this... http://www.supercars.net/pitlane/pic...3/3330057b.jpg http://www.supercars.net/pitlane/pic...3/3330057c.jpg http://www.supercars.net/pitlane/pic...3/3330057d.jpg AS frame, along with its sear and valve striker, and KM stainless steel Hammer(originally from my previous iteration of my original Hi-Capa), as well as the SD Barsto .45 chamber + Bull barrel. The chamber is actually from the 1911 in the sig. The 1911 now uses a Colt.45 chamber + barrel, without the comp and with a barrel bushing. The new trigger is not in yet as I am having a bitch of a time to get the pin out....eventually I gave up before I destroy the pin. Open to suggestion as to the best way of getting it out short of getting a set of roll-pin punches... I'm keeping them like this until my new slide and barrel arrives probably closer to the end of the year....Swapped in the Guarder spring set as well. With the ABS slide and stock BBU and BBU internals, plus the uprated spring, the slide cycles very snappy and very positive. And much like my first time shooting a Hi-Capa, very accurate. The plan is to mess around a bit with the ABS slide to get it lighter. Who knows, I might try to fit this slide to my hybrid barrel on order, along with the AS BBU it can make for a recoil-free Hi-Capa.....wonder how long the slide can last.... |
Well after some struggle the trigger was removed, only to have the Nova trigger to have too small of a slot for the loop to be installed....took me 40 min with a file....as with my other pistol I ended up permanantly fixed it with some adhesive to get any chance of slack between the trigger loop and the trigger itself out...
Also decided to put on the polished stock control I did before I got the Nova ones for the SV.... http://www.supercars.net/pitlane/pic...3/3330083a.jpg http://www.supercars.net/pitlane/pic...3/3330083b.jpg http://www.supercars.net/pitlane/pic...3/3330083c.jpg And some .45 group shots....you can see the comp-less 1911 at the moment, and the now properly aligned front grooves on the SV... http://www.supercars.net/pitlane/pic...3/3330083d.jpg http://www.supercars.net/pitlane/pic...3/3330084d.jpg |

what do you want out of it? Hi-Capa can go many route....
|
PMd to avoid thread jack ;)
|
These .45 are totaly amazing. The last one is really nice. Nice work.
|
Sweet dude. I really can't wait until I have the money for my AS frame.

TruGrip pre-cut grip tape came in....ever since I got the SD grip for my last Hi-Capa I wasn't terribly impressed with their fit, and I was trying to avoid using it again in this gun. Came across this online and figure it's a good way to cover up the "OPS MRP" writing on the grip, and for $30 it comes in a pack of 5 I figure why not. Especially useful since I wasn't about to try stippling the TM grip. Application is simple and only thing I needed to do really was to cut the holes for the grip screws. They also provide much more secure grip than the slippery stock Marui surface....When installed with magwell no one should be able to tell this is a stock grip.

Awesome! Bring the extras to CAPS on the 30th and I'm sure you'll sell a few (put one aside for me!)
