Already been about this forum, so you're a bit late. Neat video though.

But to me, that rifle is just ugly, even if it's quite practical.

Amos October 27th, 2008 18:05

WAY too many fancy little parts IMO...

It's nice... but it would be a pain in the ass to adjust all that stuff over and over again.

vondnik October 27th, 2008 18:51

Well it looks like a excellent replica of the real one. And all those little adjustment are part of what make the DSR-1 what it is.... A precision rifle that make hitting 8 inch plates at 1000 yards border on boring.

Oh if I had 12k laying around......

Cobrajr122 October 27th, 2008 19:18

mmmm

seen it before, Always looks SO nice, but I dont see myself using it enough to justify buying it.

I have way too much fun with Vodniks CETME :D

Hey Master Blaster, I agree the Ares AMP DSR-1 is pretty slick. Check out this discussion thread for a bit more info.

There is r/s one for sale in a local store. Nice rifle but way too expensive. Thing had $4000 scope mounted on it :)

That's funny and a terrible waste of an ultra-expensive scope. The best glass in the world will not improve a rifle's MOA.

Besides, the best scopes are ~2600 Leupolds.

666 October 30th, 2008 07:41

Not sure which one they had on the thing but sales person told me that scope itself was worth 4k when I asked him about the price for that rifle.

Beowulfe October 30th, 2008 11:08

The information available for the real-steel DSR-1 states a sub-.2 MOA (0.20 inch or 5mm group at 100 yards). So if my trig. is correct a .2 MOA at 1000 yards would be approximately 2 inch or 50mm grouping (center to center).

Wilson October 30th, 2008 11:12

I retract my previous statement - that gun IS worth super expensive glass. Consistent, recorded sub-quarter MOA is godlike.

Does Hensoldt or Zeiss ring a bell?
