Take a look at this sniper rifle - wow!
|
Already been about this forum, so you're a bit late. Neat video though.
But to me, that rifle is just ugly, even if it's quite practical. |
WAY too many fancy little parts IMO...
It's nice... but it would be a pain in the ass to adjust all that stuff over and over again. |
Well it looks like a excellent replica of the real one. And all those little adjustment are part of what make the DSR-1 what it is.... A precision rifle that make hitting 8 inch plates at 1000 yards border on boring.
Oh if I had 12k laying around...... |
mmmm
seen it before, Always looks SO nice, but I dont see myself using it enough to justify buying it. I have way too much fun with Vodniks CETME :D |
Hey Master Blaster, I agree the Ares AMP DSR-1 is pretty slick. Check out this discussion thread for a bit more info.

There is r/s one for sale in a local store. Nice rifle but way too expensive. Thing had $4000 scope mounted on it :)

Besides, the best scopes are ~2600 Leupolds. |
Not sure which one they had on the thing but sales person told me that scope itself was worth 4k when I asked him about the price for that rifle.
|
The information available for the real-steel DSR-1 states a sub-.2 MOA (0.20 inch or 5mm group at 100 yards). So if my trig. is correct a .2 MOA at 1000 yards would be approximately 2 inch or 50mm grouping (center to center).
|
I retract my previous statement - that gun IS worth super expensive glass. Consistent, recorded sub-quarter MOA is godlike.
