Ebaybanned "swimmer headset"?
http://ebaybanned.com/product_info.php?products_id=1582
I was wondering if anybody here has experience with this headset. Someone in another thread said they got one and ended up with a chemical burn from the rubber on the earpiece. Obviously not a good sign but, I was wondering if anybody else has one so I can see if that was a unique experience or if its a piece of crap and I should save my money. |
I have one (made by Cavalvy), seems fine to me...

Spend the extra and get a Cavalvy headset from ebay or one of the big Asian suppliers. From what I've heard, most of the knockoffs work well for a while, but quickly develop electrical problems that translate into crackles and cutting out of sound both on the earpiece and mic. Haven't heard about anyone with chemical burns from using one though.

for the price of the cavalvy I could almost buy an actual devgru :(
|
The Cavalvy ones can be had on Ebay for about $90. I think the Devgru ones are about $140-$150? Up to you, depends on your setup and needs.
I just use a Cavalvy TASC one (frogman) and a Motorola Talkabout since the fields around here aren't huge. I'm not planning on buying a fancier radio at this point, so the cheaper setup works for me. |

That links you to the bowman style one..but they do make a swimmers style TASC too.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Cavalvy-TASC-U94...QQcmdZViewItem I would save up the $$ for the better Devgru brand |
I agree with that... this guy sell SHIX ...
