g36 help

Hi all

my friend has just bought a BE g36 secondhand and i have been helping him fix it up to working order problem is that i only have theoretical knowledge of these guns and a decant background in mechanics so i cant seem to figure out why his gun keeps jamming.
the only thing i can think of is the screw hole on his gearbox is cracked and that i think could cause it, either that or his hopup is screwed

please give me your suggestions and comments cause I'm stuck

How exactly is it jamming? BB's keep getting jammed in the barrel?

mhdguy July 17th, 2008 20:34

ya it dosent matter what kind i use (ive tried .12 and.2)
it jams after 1-2 shots

Might be your magazine or hop up..

But what jams? The gearbox or the bbs?

Does the gearbox still turn when the bbs are jam?

Or does the gearbox stop working every few shots?

Is your hop-up crankedd to the max?

First, STOP using .12's. They'll tear shit out of your hop-up and barrel if they haven't already. I'd check the hop-up assembly to make sure you haven't destroyed it. Dial your hopup all the way to zero and see if it still jams. If it does some looking on Google on how to disassemble the gun. The G36 hopup is really easy to get out and disassemble.

the bb's jam because i can still hear the gun try to fire and I've tried the hopup in every position i could think of (I'd try it without installing the hopup but it would probbley just fill the gun with plastic pellets lol"

i only tried .12 because i had them lying around from when i first started and it wasn't shooting .2

Just buy some higher quality bb's, my gun works fine with those walmart .20's but one of my buds bros gun jams with them. So find some better bb's.

I still say dissassemble the hop-up and make sure it is ok.

LOL!!! It's an anomaly...the regular guys must be asleep at the switch...

Good advice already given. +1 to pull the hopup/barrel. Take it apart gently (little bits of plastic) and see that the rubber is mangled.

If the mechbox is cycling and bbs aren't shooting, then either the nozzle is not retracting far enough back to let a bb up into the chamber or the rubber/hopup is preventing the bb from getting out down the barrel (but then you'd probably notice that 2-3 would eventually shoot/dribble out at once every now and then and it's sound like a dull thud when it shot).

Best of luck, get someone local to give you a hand if you get stuck.

so from that discription its probbley the hopup rubber needs replacing (i totally forgot that it was dropping them on the ground \ shooting them 1-2' after several rounds are attempted to fire )
