ICS M4 ALTERNATIVE SWITCH ASSEMBLY

Hello everyone,

My switch assembly is worn out and I need a new set. The online stores don't have any stock for the original ICS one. Has anyone tried using a different brand of switch assembly for their ICS m4? If so what brand did you use?

Thanks in advance!!!

I've used Marui before.

I used a G&P with very minor mods to fit

Caped_crusadar April 27th, 2008 17:49

do you use a 9.6v or up?

Mentosice April 27th, 2008 18:08

did you chek on http://www.blazingtoys.com/ they have lots of parts for ics m4 in stock.

DENZILDON April 27th, 2008 22:55

IF you get a new switch assembly you might as well make sure your trigger assembly contacts are copper or get a use tm assembly and make the swap.. trust me some ICS Trigger assemblies are shit too.

Caped_crusadar April 27th, 2008 23:34

did your contacts burn out?

cuz that can be explained by the 9.6

get a mosfet chip. so you dont burn out your contacts again

HaZarD SFD April 27th, 2008 23:35

lol mosfet.. your contacts will still arc. I just replaced the damn tin coated with copper.. will run long time bangy bangy

DENZILDON April 27th, 2008 23:38

No, basically the problem is when i switch to semi it shoots 2 bullets sometimes 1 bullet. The smaller plastic part is worn out already.

mcguyver April 28th, 2008 00:35

The plastic that ICS uses is very soft, and can be "worn out" or deformed by the semi-auto cut-off bar. A better switch made with a more durable plastic is the answer.

And no, switch contacts don't arc when using a FET. There's not enough energy (voltage x current) present to form or sustain an arc when driving the gate of a FET. Electricity 101 my friend.

it doesn't arc with enough voltage to burn out your contacts

how long does it take to deform?

I got this gun used. I think the previous owner had it for 2 years and not in use for 2 to 3 years. But for that 2 years it was used it was primarily used indoors and as per JOC rules its single shoot indoors.
