Is this a good deal for a pistol???

I'm an airsoft newbie looking to buy my first pistol. I want something all metal. Found this on Ebay and want advise:
#1. Is this truly a custom pistol?
#2. Is it worth the $ or can I reproduce a better one for the same cost?

Thanks in advance!
US$ 165.00 + 30 S&H

First read the FAQs

Clicky

Then get age verified and buy from the boards or one of the other retailers in Canada.

Take note that he doesn't give in Canada

Styrak April 24th, 2008 15:58

He's from the US, silly.

"STI CUSTOM" is the markings engraved on the slide, as that is a replica of the "STI CUSTOM"...

I suppose you could say this pistol is "custom" in that it's not sold from the factory like that, and the slide is non-factory. It's about as "custom" as putting a different set of rims on your car.

But then again, there are a coupl eof other minor upgrade parts also listed in there - nothing is too major and for the price, is about right.

I don't know why "Beretta" is listed in the description, as the gun is based on a .45mm 2011/1911 type gun. But then again, when has eHobby ever gotten anny of their descriptions correct? :P

If you're looking for something "all metal", this is close but it's definitely not all metal. 2011 type guns like this have plastic grips - doesn't matter if you're talking about real steel or airsoft.

wow 4 post all in 1 minute.... lol

AXe Hound April 24th, 2008 15:59

he is the US so it does not matter and IMO that is a good deal

Maduin2k April 24th, 2008 16:03

about that pistol.... you can get a better(without blowback, unfortunatly) pistol thats a higher fps, for 100$$$ less. it may not include all the things u said, but a cheaper one, with high fps is more newbie friendly. and user friendly.

Maduin2k April 24th, 2008 16:04

just dont really go by only on what I say.... ive appearently been known to be misleading...

Yeah because it's a shitty plastic springer or a shitty plastic c02 powered gun.

Stop posting.

More FPS doesn't mean better, and I sure as hell don't want a newbie running around with a 400fps pistol, especially in CQB.

Kos-Mos April 24th, 2008 17:58

Or a pellet gun.

That handgun would be very good.

Hi-Capas are known to be reliable workhorse. And eHobby is a great retailler. Unfortunately, we are not looking at the same prices here in Canada. A GBB like this one would easilly go past 400$ here.

You have to like rather large pistols though, this one is not a small one.
5.1 stands for the lenght of the slide if I recall correct.

If you have small hands you will need to buy a new slide lock so you can reach. but Hi-capa's are excellent guns
