AI Adaptor probe
 

I tested several tanks of colemans (CDN tire, Walmart) I got some funny looks at the stores. I found that in all cases the probe enters into the tank and depressed the nozzle letting gas through so long as I apply pressure to the probe.

Is this normal?

Thanks for the MadMax reply. I tested an entire shelf of coleman tanks at Walmart and they ALL failed. Do you know if this is a failure in a specific batch of tanks or is this a new version / method of manufacture in the tanks that causes this problem.

The tanks are supposed to release gas. The orings are not supposed to be crunched so they grip the test probe. If you can push the probe in far enough to release gas and not have to horse it past the orings, the tank is ok.

I just bought coleman today. My AI Kit came in today. Rushed to walmart to find duster, but they sold out, so got propane. Which reminds me, I need to give MadMax a trader rating.
