Not releasing BB's

Hi guys,I have purchased 4 King Arms mags recently for my M16A2
TM rifle, they are a nice sturdy mag, problem is that the spring for
the BB retaining peice is very strong, this causes my mags not to
seat enough to push the release peice back enough to release the
BB's into the Aeg.Has anyone else had this problem?.It work fine
if you push up on the base of the mags.Any suggestions?.

You can file a little bit off the end of the retention clip, try 0.5mm to start.

I've heard of some KA mags need the notch on the left side of the mag to be filed (where the mag catch 'catches' them). File the top of the notch on the mag slightly until they seat right.

I've got 12 of these KA mags and they all work fine on my CA m4...some better than others. I didn't have to do any filing to the notches but I can tell the odd mag is very close to needing some filing done.

I've never noticed that any of my retension springs were too stiff. I've heard that the m14 mag retention clips were too long and needed to be filed back slightly (like saint suggested). That could also be your problem.

EDIT: Also, I found that the brand new batch of 7 that I recently baught needed to be oiled. They missfed like you wouldn't believe and I thought I got faulty springs as they litterally dribbled out when the release catch was pulled back. About 3-4 drops off lightweight silicon oil (aka RC shock oil) from any hobby shop, load the mags and let them sit for a few minutes and then they were good to go.

Well I trimmed the retaining peice and the spring, same resualts.
These mags are harder to put back together than a mech box
blind folded. Are there different lengths of feed tubes that
extend into the top of the mag?.

I have run into this problem from time to time.

Here is what's happening: the mag hole is punched a bit too low, so the mag is not catching high enough in the magwell. It's not off by much but just enough so BB's won't feed into the hop-up chamber. as you said if you hold the mag base up it will feed fine.

What you need to do is grind the bottom edge down a little bit (usually less than 1mm), this will allow the mag to seat further up the magwell, and thus should feed properly.

Apply strips of tape as needed to alleviate any wobble, and to help the mag stay seated up in the magwell.

Building up some tape here worked for my mag.

Thanks for your help guys, but neither one worked.Does
anyone know if you can solder to the mech box metal?.
If I can solder a small peice to the bottom rear of the
inlet tube,it would be enough to release the BB's.

Maybe build-up some tape on the bottom of your mech-box in your magwell, + the mag. Good luck.
