Holster for a Darkhawk??

Hey.. I bought a darkhawk today... and I'm looking for something like a Safari land, or other hard-type holster that'll securely hold the darkhawk...

I want the gun placed around the kidney area so it doesn't interfere with my Ghille / get super dirty when I'm crawling around.

Hrm... It's got a more USP like frame...

I think it looks the most like a Springfield XD... do any companies make hard holsters for those?

ThunderCactus December 28th, 2007 22:24

Check the measurements on glock's website, they're gracious enough to supply some basic dimensions on their firearms.
http://www.glock.com/english/index_pistols.htm
Click on the model and the technical data tab.
And its definitely more glock than USP, no doubt about it.

Molded hosters are weapon specific. They're molded for the exact model. "Close" won't do it.

What the fuck is a Darkhawk?

Its a cross between a Glock and an S&W Sigma. Finding a form fitting holster may be difficult, but perhaps its closer in dimension to a Sigma rather than a Glock

Amos December 29th, 2007 01:51

Yea.. It's defiantly more sigma then glock... Hrrm

Sergeantmajor December 29th, 2007 02:40

yeah man, that looks more like a glock then anything else.

MadMorbius December 29th, 2007 08:52

Ok, once more. Close won't cut it; molded hosters are MOLDED for the firearm in question. That thing is half Glock and half M&P. The important parts, from a holstering perspective, are completely different from each other.

The only way you'll find a kydex holster to fit that gun is if the manfacturer makes one, or you buy the kydex and do it yourself.

ThunderCactus December 29th, 2007 12:30

I guarantee its not going to work in a serpa holster, with a molded holster you need to focus on the slide, which is glock 21. But the serpa requires a glock 21 trigger guard, without it it won't fit or work in that holster.
So your best bet would be a friction fit S&W sigma holster, but since its not a sigma it'll probably fall out.
Molded holsters REQUIRE the gun that they were molded for, otherwise you need a pouch.

Is there a difference between the side's frontal profile of the Glock 21 versus other Glock series? Otherwise, he'd just need to get the slide through and adjust the retention screw.

The real problem is the trigger guard. The guard on the DH appears considerably smaller than the Glock. I doubt the lock would engage, it looks like it'd hit the trigger guard.

My point exactly lol
Serpa's depend on that trigger guard being a specific make and model.

Sergeantmajor December 29th, 2007 14:38

i doubt you'll find something that will hold it correctly, a solid holster that is.

is it really important?
