STAR G36

Hey all. Ive been hearing great things about the STAR G36 the actual G36 with the 3.5x magnification and the 1x red dot scope and was wondering if anyone knew how much it would cost to bring it in via mark or ken. I already emailed ken a couple of times, but without answer and i emailed mark as well, but i dont noe if he'll be able to get back to me as he already has enough on his plate. If anyone can help me that would be great. WGC had it for sale at about 350USD however it was out of stock.
Cheers,
Relja

im guessing just under 1K. i wanted to bring in a VFC HK 416 regular version, and Ken said it could be brought in for 1000. Same with the Tanaka Kar98K. so i think after shipping, you are looking at around 1K.

looks like my wallet will be kicking my butt early next year.

Relja December 15th, 2007 17:09

also does anyone have any experience with the star g36. ive read reviews but other then that no opinions.

Donster December 15th, 2007 17:15

i remember reading that one member on this board had one. i can't remember the name off by heart though =(. ill see if i can find it for you.

Relja December 15th, 2007 17:24

it was kos i believe, but he had the g36k one. im looking for the one with the two sights. the red dot and the scope. But thanks for the will to help me :D

ThunderCactus December 15th, 2007 17:31

I thought people were having issues with the red dot? Did they rectify the problem?

Relja December 15th, 2007 17:58

i heard the reticle for the red dot is a little big for cqb, but other then that nothing really.

$1k? Jesus, I long for the days back when Grim brought in STAR G36s for somewhere around $600.

skalnok December 15th, 2007 22:54

im actually going to be buying one off of mark around mid january and it will be costing me 899.98 with the 6% tax included and around 30 dollars shipping

My less than stellar review on the RSD carry handle. Can't speak for the rest of the gun though.

To make matters worse, STAR did not answer any of my inquiries, nor have been able to disassemble the RDS to see if I can make it brighter.

Relja December 16th, 2007 11:30

Thanks Darklen. The gun looked really nice and the major selling point for me was the 2 scoped carying handle, but now i think ill just stick with getting the jg 416. thanks again.

I now have Kos' G36K

Basically, you don't want the dual optics handle.

I didn't hear anything about the RDS, but the scope is almost impossible to sight. I am using some Bolle 800's and I have to push my face foward in the eye piece.... still very hard to sight.

I am about to trade it for a railtop handle because it is awefull...

Still... the star still has some very nice features...

Fiber body (very sturdy, best I handled so far), V3 mechbox with a quick swap spring guide (you can change the spring in a few minutes, don't even need to open mechbox, very efficient, shoots 340 out of the box. And the midcaps and low caps don't have the clear body with fake bullets, less a pain to get here in canada.

Star makes the best possible G36 out there. Body is just so well made... Very realistic weight too..

Trigger lag was the only problem...

Also, the RDS/3.5x scope combo is discontinued.

(take it from either kos ;) .. we know our shit :p)
