Pro- Win ?s

Hey dudes, I am just getting a V2 Pro- Win....
it doesn't come with any gears, or motor so I need to buy those. I want to run 400-420 fps with a good ROF (not crazy just higher then a normal 400-420 fps gun) those of you that are familar with pro-wins know that the mech box has a sealed hop up so you have no loss of FPS therefore you can run a weaker spring to obtain the same FPS as a normal V2 mech box. this leads me to believe that I will also get a faster ROF. Can i use a high speed motor and/or gears?
What would you guys suggest?

Note i don't know if it matters but the m4 has a 9.6 3500 mah battery, will have a tight bore barrel... probably 6.03 and a mosfet (don't know which one yet hopefully something with a burst function) Any ideas what I should do here?

The gun is just a regular short (10.5" CASV) M4, not a sniper not a DM rifle and not an attempt to replace a saw.

Thanks dudes

hey

Well....you wont be able to get 400-420 on a high speed gear set. They physically cannot compress a spring enough to get that kinda velocity. You'll prob only get like 350 MAX out of high speed gears.

if you want a high speed setup, you're better off using like torque up gears and using a larger battery (10.8V, 11.1V Lipo).

I'm getting the the 7mm version in from Illusion - and he's reccomended Prometheus Double Torque gears. Something about them being the most consistent. Do you know if a TM EG1000 motor will do the trick? (believe the spring is a m130)

Not with an m130 it won't. I use the magnum with my set up and I run an M130 works great.

Thats wrong, You can use highspeed helicals and still get 400fps.
I rebuilt a teammates M4, with Highspeed helicals, Systema silent headset, Pdi170, Systema 1/2 tooth piston, Deepfire nozzle, bearings.
Hes shooting at 410fps (Chronoed using Guarder chrony)

Hes also using the systema turbo motor.

I'd Highly recommend helicals for your prowin, they'll do wonders in there

thank you Nova, someone who knows what they are talking about...

for the majority of the other posters..... a PRO WIN isn't the same as a V2

Prometheus Double-Torque up gears or Systema Torque Up gears will do just fine. The battery you're using combined with torque up gears and a stock Tokyo Marui EG1000 motor will give you FPS higher than a stock gun using a manufacturer-recommended battery (8.4v 1300mAh sub-C pack or 600mA mini pack, the former giving the higher ROF of the two.)

Although you *could* run high speed motors and/or gear sets with a spring that heavy, I don't recommend it. You will introduce a shortened lifespan of your motor, battery, and essentially all areas of your electrical circuit due to the increased current draw.

Regarding the sealed chamber issue, you won't notice much of a difference at all in the sub-460fps areas... you won't notice any benefits unless you're used to poorly set up Armalite hop up units or you're shooting 500fps.

Consider my frame of reference: I can squeeze the same FPS out of a Pro-Win that I can with a standard gearbox setup (~425fps with an M120S spring and 509mm inner barrel) whereas other setups can only get 360fps with the same spring and inner barrel. Swapping the exact same components over to the Pro-Win won't solve the velocity issues by much. It depends a lot on a lot of the other components you use, including your hop up chamber, rubber, cylinder, air seal nozzle, piston head and even the greases you use, how much of it you use and even if you've properly applied the grease to the right areas. Even breaking in the piston head o-ring has an effect on performance.
