Larue 7.0
 

Is the LaRue 7.0 handguard is a freefloat design? I have a M733 and I want to know if I will have problems installing it with the M733 front sight. I read on the forums here that normal M4 handguards won't fit the M733 because of the frontsight on the outerbarrel. Lastly, I would assume that the "7.0" in the title means that the rail is 7" long, or is the entire unit with the retainign ring 7" long?

Yes, it's free float. If you have a Marui body, i'm not quite sure the LaRue handguard will fit. First because of the threading of the barrel nut. Second because of the LaRue anti-rotation system... 7.0 means the rail is 7'' long. If it wasn't for the RS/airsoft issues, it would fit an M733.

Much appreciated, I'm guessing that a "replica" LaRue rail set would be the same as far as compatibility goes. There's one on Gunner Airsoft that looked promising.

Those knockoff LaRues should fit your body fine.

If you're really worried about the barrel, get a one piecd 11.5" barrel (like the KA one, which is adjustable). It'll look nicer inside the handguard than the Marui one, too. Not sure the gas tube from the 733 is going to fit properly, either... I sold mine off a few years back, so the memory is vague, but I recall it fitting in oddly (ie. not like other gas tubes which fit more realistically).

The marui threading for the barrel nut is the same as a real upper.

That's great news, The Bi-rail I have on it now is a little flimsy looking. I see a new RAS in my future. Thanks guys.
