TM P226 question

Just got it in today. Lubed it up. Ran a mag throught it and decided to take it apart. just the slide though. Slide comes off no problem. Dropped sum silicone oil were the slide moves and now it wont go back in all the way. Theres like a feww milimetres left for it to go. WTF!! I'm gonna rage..
Someone help before I do

Chill before you break it man, push down the silver peice on the left side of the hammer assembly, this engages the firing pin, the slide wont go back unless this is locked down or able to move freely. When the pin is back, the lever is locked, but when it pin is released, the lever can move up and down allowing the slide to rack back fully.

Im in Orillia BTW, so if you need a 226 lesson/walk through, and age verification, come for a 20 minute drive in the future.

i'm looking @ the hammer assembly. the only silver piece in the is on the left side if ur looking down the gun. it moves up and down but its spring loaded and comes back up.

Maverickmarc October 15th, 2007 16:38

the slide moves freely and almost comes back, theres just a few mm left for it to be on properly

Renegade) October 15th, 2007 16:38

as long as it moves up and down, and the hammer is locked back, the slide should slide right on and all the way back allowing you to relock the release lever. Try it again, if not, dont force it, pull the slide back off, pull the trigger to release the hammer, then recock it and try to put the slide back on.

Let me know.

no luck

its almost there

When putting the P226 slide back on, if you just slide it on it will stop about 2 mm or so from the normal place.

I noticed that you have to use your thumb to push the slide/barrel back that 2mm abit, and then flick the disassembly switch back up.

I hope this info helps.

Maverickmarc October 15th, 2007 16:48

i'm trying to force that 2mm a bit but not to hard. it won't budge

hmm, im not sure what it could be, bent hammer rod, mag in? lever isnt aimed down(how u turn it to release the slide) maybe the recoil spring rod is not in correctly?

Take this to msn if you want.. easier to work on there.

Maverickmarc October 15th, 2007 16:48

but thats definatly where its stopping, its like its caught on something
