Airsoft AEG Question

I am looking into airsoft again, alot of my friends play it and they have a number of guns. There is a big difference between them, some of my friends have 250$ AGE's and some have all metal M4's with tracers and stuff. I was wondering if I should buy a cheap (not clearsoft) AEG to get started and then buy a expensive one later on or just spend the $ and get a good one. Any recommendations on what to do?

Regards
-Mike

Wow that was quick, thats what I love about these forums everyone is so helpful and quick. What are the odd's of getting a full metal airsoft gun for around 300-600? Or do you think I am int he wrong market.

Jayhad August 24th, 2007 11:11

500-600 probably not a problem, I would get age verified so you can browse the for sale forums you should be able to find a FMU there

You can definately get a pretty good gun for between 5 and 600.

My friends are age verified and they look around and tell me when they see good deals. I also have a arena that does outdoor games somewhat nearby but we like in the country so we just play outdoors in the neighborhoods. I was also wondering is there a certian brand that is reccomended for starters? I dont want to put down 450+ on a gun that I would have No idea how to fix or stip myself. I am one of those people who take looks over function sometimes. Thats what I did with my gun for my other sport I play (dont shun me!). I think airsoft is great and really want to get a decent looking rifle.

Welcome to the asc forum.
If you take the time to read the FAQ section you look into options about getting age verified. We require that all persons be the age of 18 or older to browser our buy and sell sections. Now for your price range you maybe able to pick up a used item that may potentially have the upgrades that you are looking for. However there are certain times where people do list items that have not been used and are still in box. However if you are interested if your price range is in the 300-400 area you can purchase a Jing Gong AEG from say...Anderson & Anderson airsoft online. JG is essentially a clone of Tokyo Marui, albeit keep in mind you do pay for what you get. However, from the reviews I have read JG does perform fairly well. So essentially as it stands for your price range those are your options at this time. If you can be patient and save though, that opens all new doors for you to explore. 700 dollars plus you can start looking at some decent stuff out there, and also for 700 plus you can snag a really decent already upgraded gun off of the sale forums.

Thanks for the welcome. I was just on Anderson airsoft. My friend has the China Air R8 and it is pretty cool. I have read the FAQ a few times. I looked into airsoft about a year and a half ago but I diddnt have a job and diddnt realize that I couldent get the guns from the states. The price inCanada was too much. But now I have a job and alot of people in my area play so yeah. Also does anybody know the status of BuyAirsoft.ca (I think thats the name) people were saying they went out of business.

Please be aware that your friends cannot buy a gun for you legally. You must be over 18 to have an airsoft in your possession.

As for deals, yes, there are plenty of good guns out there so I'd suggest you read a lot or go see the guns in person until you turn 18. By then you will be well informed and ready to buy something decent.

I turn 18 real soon so that is not a issue. Lotto tickets FTW!

Greylocks August 24th, 2007 11:41

Cool, just take your time then.

Oh whats cheaper buying a metal gun or a ABS one and upgrading it to metal. (+ cost of someone else doing it because I wouldent know how.)

amano999 August 24th, 2007 11:52

It's cheaper to buy a Metal gun than to upgrade a ABS one. Classic army and ICS come with metal bodies.

Well thanks for all your input, I am looking up some reviews on this one here ( http://aasurplus.ca/airsoft/product_...roducts_id=188 ) all this information is really good thanks!
