How long do you have to wait to have your international shipment checked by CBSA?
 

So basically, I've ordered another bunch of stuff from WGC. and the first time I ordered from them, using Speed Post express service, it arrived in Canada on the same day it was shipped. But the CBSA took a full 36hours just to check my shipment.

that was okay, but this time, it's been 4 FULL days(96hours) and it's still saying "Pending customs inspection" on the tracking.

Is this speed usual? I don't really think that they have excess of 4 full days workload worth of stuff to check everyday. Otherwise they are just plain slow at their job.

They can take as long as they want. Just have some patience.

Check the CBSA website. There's a time guideline on there somewhere. I've seen IOR shipments (Immediate Operational Requirement) for the military take more than 30 days. Good luck.

"(2) An officer may not open or cause to be opened an imported mail item that weighs thirty grams or less unless the person to whom it is addressed consents or the person who sent it has completed and attached to the mail a label in accordance with article RE 601 of the Letter Post Regulations of the Universal Postal Union."

... well that's weird, that means that they can't check stuff at all.

My tracking status has said "Pending Customs Inspection" for the last 20 business days. It looks like my shipment was seized by the CBSA so I've been going through the paper work and phone calls to try and figure things out. All that was in my package was a mechbox shell and an inner barrel.

In the past, I've had all my stuff pass customs in less than 24 hours. But, I have no idea what's going on this time around. Your best bet is to wait a week and then call the CBSA to try to get an idea of what's going on.

They'll ask you for a customs number and then you have to play telephone tag between the people at Canada Post and the CBSA. It's tons of fun.

You thought wrong. Most things you import will be over 30 grams, things that aren't over 30 grams are letters (or an envolope with about 150 .2g BBs).

My order from the states hit the border and well wasnt even inspected. Was shipped EMS Priority and that was on Tuesday. The order hit my door Friday.

I've found that if my shipment flys through customs then it most likely wasn't even opened and therefore not tariffed. However if my shipment spends at least a day in customs then more than likely they've taken the time to rifle through it and that usually means duties etc...
