KSC MK23 floppy hammer
I just bought two MK23s (one for myself, one for a friend). One is a Hard Kick version, one is a Heavyweight. Both of these guns were advertised on the forums as NIB; the aescethic condition of these guns certainly back up that claim.
HOWEVER, for some reason the hammers on both guns seems floppy. When I dry fire the gun with no gas, the hammer strikes the little spring loaded pin in the slide and bounces a little. The hammer sort of hangs limp out of the back of the slide. You can see the entire 'circle' of the hammer. But while holding down the trigger, you can push the hammer into the slide such that only half of the hammer is shown. Unfortunately even a light breath of pressure on the trigger will prod the hammer down to the limp positon (this is accompanied by a clicking sound). I know the MK23s are notorious for having weak springs - is this problem? I don't recall something like this mentioned in any reviews. any help would be appreciated. Zi-Xiao |
Mine does the exact same thing, in which case I wouldn't worry about it unless the guns don't fire.

I think this is just a standard thing with most mk23's mine did the same thing.

Ahh cool. Just wanted to make sure.... Sure is wierd. I wonder if this is supposed to replicate the real MK23's hammer?

Dunno, be nice to find out though.
Since this is a KSC Mk23 thread................ I got around to some long distance stuff, using Bastard 0.28g BBs, I'm getting out to 150ft accurately (like mansized easy hits accuracy). Gonna be a fun game next weekend I'll tell ya! (incidentally, I found in my basement at 30ft, 0.36g forms the tightest groups, like 3" or so, the 0.25g I have form the largest. 0.20g.............. don't even think about it with this gun!) |
