Besides the PSG being very expensive to get gameworthy I find AEG snipers much better suited to the designated marksman role then the actual sniper role because the mechbox whine tend to give away your position.
A spring or gas sniper while being less useful in a firefight then a semi-auto sniper it does have the advantage of being much quieter so it would be easier to remain hidden in your sniper nest.

trufret is right. while you can get a PSG-1 or a regular AEG and upgrade it to sniper standards, it is wholefully impractical, expensive and in the end, the result is a marksman, not a sniper. If you dont know the difference between the two, you have no business in being either one. If you want to be a marksman, get a full auto AEG, so at least that way you can hold your own in a firefight. Dont get the PSG. I have been doing a lot of research on them, and they are not worth the time or money. Now, that being said, if you want to be a true sniper, a bolt action would be best because they are allowed to shoot over 450 fps and such. that is the true sniper rifle of airsoft.
