ACOG questions
I'm lookin at buying a replica ACOG and I have a question to ask. My gun is a CA M15A4 Rifle (ca version of M16A3) and I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with the front site being visible throught the ACOG. I have heard of this problem with M4's but i'm not sure if there would be the same problem. Any help would be great.

if you place it on top of your carrying handle, there shouldnt be a problem. But if you take off your carrying handle and replace it with the scope, im pretty sure your going to see it.
You'll see the front sight through the acog. That's by design. If you don't like it, take off the front sight or get a folder.
What you'll see won't really get in the way. It is a blurry, slightly darker area where the sight is but it doesn't really obscure your vision.
I never saw my front sight through my ACOG, not even a darker spot in the picture and I had an M4.
Two more possibilities would involve either a riser mount or choping up the front sight.
Ok then. I'll give it a whirl without the carry handle on and see if it affects anything. If that doesn't work I'll most likely go for a riser.
Thanks for the help! |
My M4 has a removable handle, and when I mount the ACOG on the rail, I can see the front sight. It does not get in the way, and acts as a quick-reflex sight, since it's almost perfectly aligned with the center of the scope.
It depends if you get the RDS or Scope version of the ACOG. RDS, you will see the front sight, with scope, you will not. G&P makes the scope ACOG, some like it, others don't.
