The Range of my TM M4A1 going down?

Hi, Sorry to make another thread asking for help on my gun. I've searched around but couldn't find any reasonable results:oops:

So my problem, again, is that my M4's Range seems to be going down somewhat(along with velocity). When I first got my gun from the now-closed SpecArms, it fired perfect when I shot it at a target sheet from about 10~14meters away. Pulled the Trigger, the usual firing sound from my gun, instant BANG on the target sheet(with TM 0.25g BBs that came with the gun).

Now, after a few jamming with the Excel 0.2g BBs, It seems to shoot slower(lower FPS) and less range(Around 40meters ~50 at max).

To give you a good idea of how far it flies, I've taken a picture.

Flies from my balcony to maybe to that house across the street(BB would PROBABLY touch the ground by the time it reach the house. Never dared to try shooting at them but I'm pretty sure:oops: )

Think maybe my Gearbox is wearing out from all the jams?

and if so, Would this gearbox be a good upgrade?

have you tried cleaning your barrel?

Check your hop up sleeve and bucking? Could be shredded...

If it was jammed you could have torn your hopup rubber when un-jamming it.

I second the hop up rubber being done..

Edited..

he didnt shoot across the street.

Saw a picture out of a guys window of the family housing, the fact he said he could shoot accross and hit the other house... Thats where I based my post on, however I read it quickly and missed the joke part of it after, already corrected my post.

I've just cleaned my barrel(with airsoft innovation lubricant) and checked my hop up unit. I can't see anything wrong with it, but here's a couple pics just in case.

Rubber looks ok I guess, might b the hop up itself, have u tried turing it all the way off and seeing how it shoots?

Skladfin June 19th, 2007 20:01

I've turned the hop up waaay down, then turned it waaay up again to test if it's working, it's working just normally.

Could it possibly be the problem of something inside my gearbox? After all the jamming?

wild guest like this. Have you checked you barrel to see if there any major scrash? and maybe air is leaking some where, dont know where since i dont know enough one AEG to make a suggestion.

Could be a few things. Have you ever stored it with the spring compressed? That will cause a huge reduction in FPS right there. Have you ever done any maintenance to the mechbox, like check the cylinder, piston, and o-ring for wear? All of these things can cause the problem you're having.

one major thing to check would be your air nozzel. I had a team mate gun jam bad and upon inspection found the air nozzel broke before repairs it was doing almost exactly what you are saying, closer look showed the air nozzel was shattered. replaced the nozzel and he was back in bissness, I figured that since the gun jamed the nozzel slamed into the bb and destroyed the nozzel it's self. Hope that helps
