Dropping your fps...

Is there a way to drop your fps temporarily without opening your gearbox? I have a game tomorrow with FPS regulations.. i hate opening my gearbox and i don't have time going to a gunsmith.

Buy a velocity reducer, that will do.

Basically the velocity reducer places an obstruction at the end of the barrel that allows the bb through but reduces the speed. You have plastic rings that you change until you get the fps to the desired speed. These rings are colour coded and have different thicknesses.

talk to your field admin, many keep a few on hand for hot guns.

thanks... has anybody tried using this already?!? doesn't affect the accuracy of your AEG??!? or the flight of bb's?

only slightly.

From what I understand, it's not suppose to touch the BB at all. It kind restricts the airflow ahead of the BB and slows it that way. Careful when screwing them on, apparently they're a pain to get off.

As I look down the reducer you can't see through. Maybe the air in front of the BB opens up the X in the plastic and reduces the speed that way. Thanks for the info about getting the thing off. I'm hoping not to have to use it but when I get to test the fps I may be forced to.

Yep, and the various coloured bands reinforce the air resistor with different amount of force. The longer the resistor stays closed, the bigger the fps drop.
