Online Petition - Please Read / Sign & Share Your Thoughts

Hello All,

After much debate last night over the seizures and various retailers closing down as well as the potential reality that the sport of AirSoft might be over sooner than we may want to admit it (or not), I have decided to take the first step by creating an Online Petition.

In the petition, I have outlined a few policies and alternatives in which we can go forward and show authority figures that we mean business.

I am tired of everyone (not just here for this particular issue) but in general speaking about the "sky is falling" or that "if you do this - cops will break down your door" ...etc. That may be possible in movies, but not in reality. Many "Davids" have beat "Goliaths" and this is one battle we have no choice but to confront.

In another post on this forum someone stated (unfortunately) that this is a lose-lose battle for us and that we should simply pack up because we are dealing with a much bigger power and that there is nothing wee-little-us can do about it. If that were true, as I responded on that thread then women would not be able to vote, slavery would still exist today, genocides would not stop and the world as we know it would be much in a much worse situation - I BEG TO DIFFER.

If you agree with what I wrote in the petition, please sign up - I would like to extend this to not only the ASC community but also our brothers/sisters in USA as well as international communities. The more support we get, the better!

Also, I know that you have to sign your first and last name on the petition and well, some of you may not be willing to do such a thing. Ask yourself this: If you won't put your name on the dotted line for something you believe in, then why should you be allowed to play with others who would? Is this just a simple game or your sport and passion? For those that don't see me eye-to-eye on this point, I am saddened by your decision.

As the saying goes, "You can only lead a horse to water, but you can never make it drink"

HERE IS THE ONLINE PETITION:

Cheers,
KaOz.

P.S. I need to make an adjustment on it... so for the time being where it says NAME - put your first and where it says NAME / LAST NAME - put your LAST only! Thank you.

Umm, buddy, you're breaking all the ROE by trying to get people involved on the ASC forum.

For 2 or 3 years people have been trying to get Canadian airsoft players organized, and fight for our sport's right to exist. Every single thread people start about 'saving' airsoft is deleted within 12 hours, and everyone in those threads trying to be active is told that there is no threat to airsoft, and whatever is worrying them is just an isolated incident.

Sorry to break it to you, but if you keep it up they're likely to ban you.

Don't ask me why, it doesn't make sense, but the admins live in their own world.

Anonymous online petitions mean jack squat and will get us nowhere.

Exactly.

Hello,

It is anonymous for others, not for me - it is so that once it reaches a limit, I can have the option of making it visible to the public.

For the safety and security of people on this forum (for example) I have selected this option.

As for the admis banning me, I don't see why they should. Everyone is asked to read it and if they like comment on other possible alternatives, solutions, etc. - esp. from the ole'timers who know this community better than anyone else.

I am just tired of people stating this and saying that without actually doing anything except posting on this forum... flame me if you like, but I am at least taking the initiative here to do something - will it be the only solution or will it fly, who knows, but as my saying goes: "It is better to be hated for something you do, than to be hated for something you don't do"

Cheers,
KaOz.

Enough talking about the negatives of this petition - if you dont like it, dont sign it. If you do, then thank you.

Let's start outlining some things... what is the 1st step... where do we go from here?

Thanks,
KaOz.

Read "signatures" 12 and 13 and maybe you'll begin to understand why anonymous online petitions carry absolutely ZERO weight in the real world.

aZn_triXta07 March 1st, 2007 12:41

Hey man, the reason why you're getting all the negatives is because the veteran airsofters here HAVE made these attempts before in PAPER and have gotten nowhere. You've been a member here for years I'm sure you've been aroun for some of this.

Tell me you can edit the text. A petition with spelling mistakes will never be taken seriously.

Where are the spelling mistakes? Yes, I can edit the text - that is what I plan to do - somehow the admin access is down.

I wrote it quickly this morning in word and it did not detect any.

Cheers,
KaOz.

Since I started with ASC back in '03 I believe, there were some of these issues back then - just not as severe. I have never heard of any of the vets doing such a thing, I'm probably wrong but I am am not aware of it.

The only issues that were around back when I played was some politics between a certain team and the rest of the ASC memebrs, that's about it. Also, the fact that noobs were not welcomed - but I see that has changed as well.

Cheers,
KaOz.
