Mini Tamiya's....where to get them????

Number three in the series....

Ok, so I've been looking to do some re-wiring and I requie a few mini tamiya connectors. Problem is, any electronics store I go to doesn't have them and doesn't seem to have a damn clue what they are when I ask. I've even brought examples no luck....

Where in the hell do I get these!??!

(I'd just switch to deans but that would cost me over $50 to get them all switched)

Yes, I forgot to say, I'm in the Kitchener, Ontario....so anything local would be good....even though everything local so far doesn't suffice.

That eBay price is good though if I have to resort to that. Thanks.

Johns Photo and Hobby on Danforth near Woodbine Ave in Toronto, They would probably ship if you don't want to pick them up. Take care....

What on Earth do you need 50 deans connectors for? Their $10 for 10 on ebay, buying them at $3-5 each pair from hobby stores or airsoft retailers is just nuts unless you absolutely can't wait for shipping.

Local hobby stores, unless its a large chain, usually charge 4-5x what the connectors can be bought for from other sources, I never buy local because of the price difference. I've bought 3 bags of 10 pairs of deans connectors off of ebay over the course of the last year and I've never paid more than CDN$17 after shipping for the whole bag of 10. Shipping from Hong Kong because of the small package usually takes a week or less.

I like the stuff available at cheapbatterypacks.com. I'm always in the market for wires, connectors, heatshrink etc. but does anyone know a Canadian company that deals in the same stuff? The local hobby store has a fair amount of stuff, but not everything I'm after.

I have a good supply of #18AWG red & black Belden Teflon insulated (aerospace grade) wire at my disposal if anyone needs a few feet. Is very close to the same stuff TM uses within their mechbox.

You have to look at hobby shops. When I went to school at loo, I just drive down to sauga to get them. It's only like 20 mins ride anyways, lot easier than ebay.

Well I was talking about indidual prices I've seen at hobby stores. That....plus I'm too lazy to switch everything and I like being compatable with other so I can swap and share batteries.

Perhaps I'll try eBay though it'll take forever with fucking Paypal!

LUTNIT February 19th, 2007 00:49

Everyone seems to have problems with Paypal taking forever but mine is always instant, strange.

I never get anything at hobby stores, I go to electronic stores, there is one in Ottawa that has heatshrink ($2 for 4 feet or something), silicone coated wire, etc.

Stalker, I may have to take you up on that aerospace grade wire, my stock of silicone wire is running short.
