durable SAW upgrades
 

I need some help with upgrades, if anyone can lend their opinion on a durable upgrade to increase ROF i would more than appreciate it.
Over the past five years I have been purchasing equipment without much regard to role limitations. After buying a c-mag recently, I have joined a state wide team and instead of waisting the c-mag I have decided to conform to the characteristics of my weapon's role. I run a SAW, this is my setup:
TM GS SG/1
Hero 3000 round C-MAG (pressure switch)
EG-700
SystemA m110 (well used, shooting around the 350s)
8.4v 1700mah NI-CD
CA metal body
at this point I'm unsure of what brand of gears i have

I know, another HK21/HK11 so far i have gone through 15000 rnds on this system without a problem but it's still young

the point of this thread is to obtain advice on increasing my rate of fire without decreasing durability. As many of you know a SAW usually have a very high ROF that tear up internals all the time (5-6 games~20,000 rnds=new piston or more). I don't want a BB hose but a boost in ROF would be nice but what I'm really after an increase in durability. I am using an AEG that wasn't intended to be a SAW. This is the performance I'm looking for:

ROF, I would like to get in the range of 20rps
Lifespan of parts, i would like to replace part as little as possible if at all.

I think the easiest thing to do would be to add a higher voltage battery 9.6 or 10.8, or get some hi-speed gears

Not even a higher voltage, he could probably just increase his mah. But 20rps? Is that even possible without some really major upgrades?

there is no way to increase ROF without sacrificing durability.
Easiest way is to switch to a 9.6v large battery.
Change out the EG700 for an EG100, systema hispeed motor or if funds allow, the god of motors, the Eagle Force hammer.

Could get hispeed gears, but since their teeth are smaller,, even though they are tougher then regular TM gears, they still can get chewed up. Considering how much gears cost...Its better to get reinforced standard ratio gears.

The Cmag will not last. Its feeding system uses plastic gears and will burn out. Run some leads up the side of the Cmag...and run some leads from the gun, down and through the magwell so when you pull the trigger it automatically winds the mag....not only that, but you'll be running the Cmag off of 9.6v

a silent piston head would be a wise upgrade investment. rubber on metal will last longer than metal on metal.

MGs go through pistons, its a way of life. Theyre cheap, so be thankful. I put a 9.6v in my m249 by accident, one BB jammed.. tore the piston teeth to shreds. so.. careful! 8.4v intellect battery should be More than enough

Try to use fully charged batteries more often they shoot alot faster and smoother i find.

ever thought of just leaving it at that RoF?
not all light machine guns are MG42's, my HK11 doesnt have a drum mag yet so i like the mag to last me atleast 10 seconds.

theres 2 things to remember when being an LMG:
1) people will duck and cover wether theres 5 BBs hitting the tree or 50; as long as its consistently hitting their tree.
2) LMGs dont kill people, greandes and rifleman kill people.

but if thats the way you want to go, you'll need a reinforced piston, reinforced v2 gearbox (or else! http://24.76.182.57/sword2/images/zo...e/DSCF1816.JPG)
and a silent piston head
as for a battery, the big difference ive found is in Mah. my 8.4v 3000Mah large fires faster than my 8.4v 1200mah mini, and my 9.6v 1400mah mini fires a tad bit slower. i recommend a nice juicy 8.4v 4200Mah battery

just remember that youll be putting through tonnes of BBs... and eventually Something will give.

If you put in a reinforced piston like ThunderCactus says (I love you Frank!! but I gotta disagree on this one) the piston Wont be the part to give.. and thus something else will. like.. Gears for example. And theres a shitstorm and a half.

with good quality high speed gears, reinforced piston and a spring that shoots around 320-330fps, it should last you a couple ten thousand rounds.
when we first got seans CA36 it had high speed gears (around 1200rpm) and that stock piston lasted a whole 15 seconds on full auto lol
for 800-950rpm i agree, the piston will last ALOT longer but still be the first thing to break
and afterall, the thing to break in your gearbox, is the cheapest thing to replace, no harm in trying it out the first time with a stock piston
