Chinese knock off aeg's

Would you consider buy one of the newer chinese "knockoffs" coming out onto the market?

Kid January 28th, 2007 12:00

This would be referring to CYMA, DE,, WELL, etc? Or unnamed brands?

Roadboy January 28th, 2007 12:08

Yea, its referring to those Brands..

The Saint January 28th, 2007 12:10

I wish I could vote for both "Yes, finally a reasonably priced alternative!" and
"Project gun time! / Strip them for parts", because both can apply.

ancorp January 28th, 2007 12:22

Ditto, but in Canada its nowhere near as worth it as in the US. Here they are about like...60% of the cost, there its closer to 30%...

Cheers,
Alex

I might consider one for a project gun. I wouldn't trust the gearbox though, personally

On the newer Chinaegs (HAHA ME CLEVER), the gearbox and gears both seem half decent. There's an unfortunately high occurence of clear tappets, spring guides and nozzles however. Things that someone really new to airsoft might not notice (even in terms of performance, if they don't read enough) and someone not-so-new to airsoft would just swap out.

Coma January 28th, 2007 12:50

I would definatly use CYMA guns for projects. However, as previously mentioned, the internals would have to be replaced just because of realibility.

Curtis Tactics January 28th, 2007 12:51

if there was nothing else on the market like it, lets say a SKS then yeah

Dirty Deeds January 28th, 2007 13:06

Woot....cheap parts guns!

Pip January 28th, 2007 13:11

Voted yes, but if i could swap out the internals for something better then i'd be much happier.

thephenom January 28th, 2007 13:59

I wouldn't mind getting one or two half decent ones as a loaner gun for friends. Personally I wouldn't mind that China brand L96A1, for its price, it's worth it as a display piece.

Droc January 28th, 2007 14:05

As Slater said "dude....its quality not quantity"

Quality wins, hands down.

word has it, they are making a cheap alternative to LCD TVs....called the Etch A Sketch

HaZarD SFD January 28th, 2007 14:26

I would pick one up if the price was right and to just see how good they are. if
it is shit ill keep it to tease my cat.

Moz January 28th, 2007 15:35

Parts / value.

I didn't intend to use this CYMA AEG I bought as a long term weapon for skirmishing but the more I learn about it's compatibility I'm considering upgrading it when it starts to fail.
