Will a newer type upper receiver fit my anceint gun?
 

Hey, I've got a SUPER old (TM)M16VN... The kind where the barrel is perminantly attached to the upper receiver... and I've recently bought a M4 RIS system that comes with all the stuff I need to throw it on any gun... well.. any gun exept mine.

I was wondering if I were to buy a new armalite upper receiver if it would fit comfertably on my M16VN's lower receiver?

If not... I may have a rail system + inner and outter barrel to seel soon...

... Anyone?

I think you'll probably be stuck buying a new receiver set AND front end if the gun is indeed that old and incompatible with modern parts. There may be someone on MAA that has a spare.

I don't have acess to the buy and sell... bein' 17 and all.

I bought an inner, outer and RIS from Zekk... So i've got a "front end"... I just need an upper receiver (if it'll fit on my lower receiver)

Ahhh oh well.. I'll ask around.

I'm looking at both the TM M16VN and TM M4A1 lower receivers. I don't know what I did with the M4 upper receiver...I drink and sometimes misplace things. I do still have the VN upper receiver though. It does not fit on the M4A1 lower receiver. All sorts of things are different.
