AK 74 Bayonets

Well like title reads, looking at you Russian geardos.

Where do you recomend I buy a AK74 bayonet? hopefully one that fits the CA SLR105.

Is there any specific make I should be looking for? there seems to be alot of DDR ones out there, are those some how inferior? their prices seem quite low, even lower than Bulgarian ones.

Check Ebay. Bayonets usually go for around 30-40 bucks these days. SAVE MORE SURPLUS has couple of bayonets for sale, but their prices are a bit too high.
All Eastern Block made bayonets are pretty much the same, except for trades and colors. Any modern models made for AK74 will fit SLR.

If you really want to get Russian bayonet, get this:

Thank you so much! Your setup looks great btw!

I started out doing Russian gear about 5 years ago, now it is time to get back to it :) I apreciate the few posts you have already made that have been helpful 666!

No problem.
Btw, are you going for any specific look or just general Russian/Soviet impression?

I do not have any specific look in mind, if anything I find Russian gear hard to keep to a specific look, from the pictures there are so many camo and so many vests and so many in use. Though I hear they are suppose to be limiting it more now.

I as looking towards Grad2 with a small patrol pack of sorts, as for camo I thought either beka tiger or gorka. Hopefully I can pick up a sphera helmet sometime later next year. Unless you know of a good source for those hehe :D

Do you know much about body armor? What are common ones? I have seen some old Soviet ones that are still in use, but those were training pictures.

Grad2 - i have it its great... been using it for 3 years and its been thru some good use and its been a solid piece of kit..

sphera - good luck ;) what i think im gonna do is get a CF mich helmet and just make/buy a flora helmet cover.... they look about the same as modern russian helmet. i have one of the older 60s helmets but its a terrible way to put it on your head... the strap and head rig is horrible...

I'm not a big fan of Russian tigers, so I'd get gorka :) But that's just my opinion. Grad2 is pretty good, it's modified version of 6sh92 vest which was issued to regular infantry troops throughout the 90s. I have 6sh92 and find it comfortable, plus it comes with pretty good patrol pack.
Body armor is probably the hardest piece of kit to get. AFAIK 6B4 is standard body armor issued to infantry. Thing is heavy as hell due to multiple steel plates and very expesive if you will find someone who will be willing to sell it.
Trident military has this vest for sale for 600USD, they also have just carrier in flora for 100USD.
I also seen pics of people wearing this vest:

But this thing looks more like a vest issued to vehicle crews since it only has soft panels. SMK vests are pretty rare as well, I paid 100 for mine, seen them go for as much as 250USD on red-alliance for just a carrier.
Btw, this store has gorka for sale. Guy can be slow when it comes to shipping but always completes the deal. He usually throws in some bonuses :)

Spheras popup on ebay once in a while. The price range would be between 200-300USD. From what I've heard, you don't really want to wear shpera to an airsoft game :) It's heavy and reduses person's hearing abilities big time.

real steal AK-47 bayonets $40.00

I'm pretty sure that bayonets made for AK47 won't fit AK74, 47 and 74 have different bayonet lugs.

MadMorbius December 18th, 2006 11:29

Are they compatible with the CZ858? If so, there should be plenty around at the gun shops.

They aren't interchangeable.
