Flashlights

Was just wondering how many of you guys use flashlights in airsoft.

1. If they are rifle mounted, handgun mounted or stand alone.
2. If they are replica or real deal.
3. (a) If they are for more show?
(b) if not what do you use them for?

Teiwaz November 29th, 2006 21:31

Mine just arrived.

1. Gun mounted, one of the integral under slung types for the MP5.
2. Replica. Real ones are absurdly expensive, and I don't even want to think about what I'd have to do to get a real mp5 foregrip flashlight.
3. a) I got it for use. Although it does look very cool.
b) It's for... uh... seeing in the dark? Playing CQB at night with the lights off makes for a very dark game, and flashlights are very useful for seeing into dark corners and blinding people who are shooting at you.

Well, I have a NOMA LED flashlight mounted in a large scope mount for the bottom rail of my SR-16.

I also have one that is in my vest, A streamlight 3N.

Well, neither are "replicas" as they are not modelled after any particular flashlight.

I put the Noma on the rail for use in night games, and it does look kinda badass.

1. I use a G&P VLI replica on my M4, it comes with an integrated mount. Flashlight foregrip on my M1100 shotgun. Surefire G2 that I carry in my vest aswell. About to buy a Surefire 310R for my 1911.

2. The first 2 are replicas and the last 2 are real deal.

3. I use them for games played at night or in darker envirnment and mostly to blind people than navigation.

The NOMA taclight is wicked awesome. I have one mounted to the side of my MP7 and a pile of others around here have them too. Just rub off the NOMA logo with some nail polish remover and you're set! :D

I have a cigarette lighter taped to the side of my barrel, I use it as a cigarette lighter. Some times I pretend its a flame thrower but mostly it just melts my plastic barrel. I used some black electrical tape to hold it there.

I use a pelican M9 mounted to MP7 with a scope mount and a surefire tape switch, I keep a Surefire 6P in my vest it has the it has the super bright PG1 bulb in it.
I used a couple of "replica" lights but tired of buying new ones when the bulbs went.
The pelican is a good deal at $59-$69. depending where you buy it.

I think you mean the P61 bulb (120lumens & 20 min battery) , as opposed to the P60 bulb (60 lumens and 60 min battery life).
As well R nicholls has the Nitrolon G2 on sale for $49.95. available in OD tan And Black. couple things worth noting here. The G2 has a "nitrolon body as opposed to the Alum body of the 6P. The lense is the real difference here though. The lense is made of a tough polymer plastic that will deform and melt if you leave the lamp on too long by accident. Then you need a replacement head assembly. (differnt from the Lamp assembly) The other point worth noting is that most of the sure fire lights in that family of sizes run on the same Lamp assembly P60. So you getthe sam light from the G2 as the Centurion, Just the body up-grades. You can also switch the P61 in and out as you please and It savailable separate from the flash light. If I recall these are worth about 25 bux on their own. But... they made a bad batch a few years ago and had no problems send you your free replacement in the mail under warrenty if you got a bad one. Or you can pick up the 6P knock off I sell with the xenon bulb for $5.00 and a scope ring to mount it for $7.00.
Yeah I know a little about Flashlights, don't let it get around, cuz, dude, I sell Pants.
Cheers

I've got a Streamlight TLR-1 on my Glock 18c, and a Streamlight Scorpion in my vest but it keeps crapping out on me for unknown reasons and I'm tired of fixing it.
