P226 Mag won't fill - KJ Works P226 Full Metal
 

Okay,

Went to go and fire my KJ Works P226 today and for some reason my mag won't fill. I am using a A.I. Propane adapter and when I put it onto the mag fill nozzle it fills for a second and then stops I get maybe two or three rounds from the mag at the most. The only idea I can come up with is that the fill nozzle is plugged since no gas leaks out and beyond that intial first second the magazine stops filling. Any ideas would be handy beyond running out and getting a new mag. Le me know

What technique do you use to fill the mag, exactly? If you dont understand what I mean, check the FAQ section.

I suspect you put the mag on top of the can, right?

also, has the mag worked in the past?, is the propane bottle new or used? and relating to the propane bottle, how heavy/light is it? do you hear liquid squishing around? just trying to figure out if there is enough propane in the bottle to fill a kj mag.

I am using the normal technique for filling the mag..invert mag and invert bottle and fill. The mag itself really did work from the beginning I got it about a couple months ago and only got a chance to fully test it untill now

KJW magz tend to leak. Pour some silicone oil on the gas valve. Let it sit for a day - the longer the better.

I believe gas is leaking out of the mag, that is why you are not getting full pressure and shot count.

tried sitting the fill valve in silicon oil first for a day, no chance, and now it has sat for over two and again the mag only is able to crank out about two to five shots before it gives up or the bb's just roll out of the barrel. The question becomes do I just bite the bullet and snag a new mag seeming this on is faulty in some what with the filling valve or am I able to just find a valve and replace it.

(Note: This is the valve the mag uses to fill on the bottom not the valve on the top of the mag by where you load bb's)

Have you tried taking your mag apart? Maybe the rubber seals are damaged or corroded.

How much propane do you have left in your bottle? It's difficult to get the last bits of liquid out because of the design of propane bottles.

Or is it that each shot you do take dumps an excessive amount of gas, leading to only a few shots on a mag fill? Could it be that the mag is indeed filled, but the problem lies with the gun. I have seen this happen to W.E. hicapas, and the problem was at the manufacturing level. It wasn't really a user-fixable problem.

The propane bottle is brand new so I can't see that being the problem but the pistol does seem to be using abit more gas then I would say a normal gun would or more than my clock does but I was chaulking it up to the pistol being full metal and using more becuase of the heaviness of it. Maybe if I upgraded the spring to a better one now if it would help. Would a TM p226 recoil spring work in my KJ Works model?

KJW and TM are pretty similar so i would think that it'll fit
