Tanaka P229 HW??

k, i'm in the market for a gbb. so far i'm looking at ksc usp .45, ksc glock 23f, kjw glocks 23 and 32c, or a sig of some kind, preferably the 229 as the title of this thread implies. now, as some of you may have been able to tell i'm looking for something other than a 9mm here. the question is; what "calibre" is the tanaka p229 "chambered" for? if anyone has one and could help me out with what it says on the slide/breech, that would be swell.. furthermore, any suggestions on which gun to go with as a first time gun, keeping in mind that i would prefer to keep it pretty much stock... thanks.

All your questions are answered already if you read the Reviews section, and What is the Best GBB thread.

Markings are just that, markings.

what exactly would this google search do to answer my specific question about the tanaka p229? i would undoubtedly get many results from that search, but isn't the point of forums to bypass sifting through dozens of useless sites by asking someone who knows directly? and no, not all of my questions have been answered, i have read reviews to find out which gbb is better, but unfortunately the question of the p229 and it's markings is still unanswered, as there are no reviews on the tanaka p229 that i can find. and so what if they are just markings, i happen to find them important, and i know i'm not alone on that. the suggestions on which gun is better part was simply a side note to the main question of the p229. thanks for trying to help though.

Try PMing user TripWire on these boards - I'm 99% sure he has (or had) one.

This is what happens when people stop reading threads and just post canned answers.

I have a feeling I know the kind of style you like. I would recommend looking into the TM Sig p226 it’s a great looking gun and performs very well, though a bit on the light side. There are also a lot of very nice full metal kits available for it that I am sure you could get special ordered from one of the many Canadian retailers.

Here is a decent review I dug up for you.

One question though, why is the calibre of the fire arm so important to you? At the end of the day they all still fire 6mm pellets after all.

Best luck GBB hunting and I hope that what ever gun you choose works out well for you.

I specifically remember being interested in this gun, and the Review WAS most definetly in the Gbb review thread: Here
Just a tip, alot of people here REALLY don't like spoonfeeding, and your quite lucky everyone is being quite patient with you.

thanks a lot for being so helpful, and i don't know i just like the idea of something different than 9mm markings, obviously just for aesthetics, but either way.

thanks but i already looked there. there are a couple tanaka p226 reviews but no p229. i know how much people hate when inexperienced airsoft enthusiasts ask seemingly dumb questions, but i have honestly tried everything i could think of, arnie's, redwolf, here, etc...

You asked what caliber markings should be on it. And that is the answer.
