ICS and 9.6v batteries...

I have been looking to buy my second AEG for about a month now, and I am heavily leaning towards the ICS M4. I only have 1 quick question about it. I dont plan on upgrading it for a few months until I have more cash on hand, and even then I only plan on giving it a tightbore and maybe a light(ish) spring, so I need a battery that wont harm the internals. Does ICS build their guns similar to the way CA does where you can safely use a 9.6v battery with a stock gun? I can't really find much info on ICS internals, but sorry if I overlooked something.

Thanks in advance.

im sure you could use a 9.6v. I used an 8.4v with my ICS m4 when i had it, no problems. The ICS motor sucks balls though, my motor was burnt out fairly quickly with my 8.4v. the EG1000 i threw in afterwards worked no problem. Thats about the only downfall of ICS, they use motors that are not as great as eg1000, atleast that would be my experience.

I also have 1 question that is a bit off topic, but its so small I dont feel the need to create a new topic. About how heavy is it compared to say a CA M15? I heard they use lighter weight metals, which is a plus for me.

As far as 007airsoft is concerned, both guns weigh right about the same, i think the ICS m4 even weights a bit more than the CA m4.

I've been using the stock motor in my ICS M4 with a 9.6v 1700 mah battery for about 2 years and have not had a single issue with it. This is with a PDI 150% spring as well.
I put a Guarder 2003 ver. outter barrel on mine and it is very heavy. Weighed about the same as a friend's RPK (until he put his NV on :P)

Just make sure to check your bushings - if they are plastic/nylon order yourself a set of the ICS copper bushings and install, you should be gtg.

I'm running an ICS M4 with the MA-56 upper gear box (M120 spring) 9.6v 1700mAh battery and ICS 3000 motor and Systema Gears.I'v been using this set up for a couple months now and run's top notch for me!
