Need some information - Recon/Scouts/LRRP's

I was just wondering if anyone in the community could help me with some personal research. I'm looking for information on Units that deal mainly with Recon/Scouting/LRRP's.

I'm mainly looking for information regarding tactics, equipment, past conflicts...etc. I've found a few Military Analyst sites, but they seem to summarise everything, and go into little detail.

I'm working on a personal kit right now, and to make it work properly I wanna set it up properly, and get examples and input from all over the world. I'm really digging deep looking for testimonials from actual solidiers who fought, and what they did out in the field. As interesting as field manuals are, they usually don't (from what I've heard) transfer over well into the field.

So far, from what I've read, the Russian soldiers in Chechnya seem to have the most experience dealing with a somewhat legitament enemy force. And so they seem to be on the forefront of developing stuff that actually works on a modern battlefield. But I'm finding it difficult to get good information on other areas like Vietnam LRRP's, Modern LRS's units, or even Guerilla/Terrorist scout units.

If you know where to find any good info on the above, please throw me a link I would really appreciate it.

Thanks.
