AW HX1002 only locks back on some mags
 

Hello everyone, I have an aw hx1002 that only locks back on the original mag it came with. I bought 2 more of the aw mags and those new ones only lock the slide 1 out of 10 times. The slide release lever is worn a bit where the detent holds it. I was going to replace it with this. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.her...s-color-black/
I would guess it's the magazine followers spring though. Does anyone have a suggestion for a stronger one?

It sounds more like a mag problem than a slide lock issue.

If the feed lips/follower are off spec you will either have to file down the section where the follower meets the lips or add material to the part that engages the slide lock so that the slide doesn't skip/jump over the slide lock.

If your mag has a little gap like in the picture below in the red circle on the right, you might have a bit of room to file so that it will correct the issue. Do not file all the way so that it touches the feed lip. That extra material is intentional to prevent the follower from ramming into the feed lips. Make sure to experiment and measure first of course.
