curious about marstar
 

i recently bought a marstar dot scope and was wondering what people thought about the brand. oh ya, has anyone been shot in the scope?

I know their products; they are simple, affordable, and work. Their basic stuff is not Gee Wizz exciting, but they work fine for a game like airsoft.

It's like russian products; not pretty, but they work fine. I would not worry. If it breaks or fails, they stand behind what they sell.

Note that Marstar is an importation and firearms company. The real brand of the scope is probably a deal they made with one of their suppliers. For a better answer, give us a URL for the exact item.

But since Marstar sells real equipment to real users, they also assume that if someone takes a round through the scope, they wouldn't be coming back to get a refund.

I've seen a scope shot before.. right through the first couple lenses. It happens. It's a risk you have to take if you want a scope.

Sorry, I was tired. If you take a shot in the scope, it's not the fault of the scope or a manufacturing problem. You'd get no refund.

But if it's defective right out of the box, sure. Was that part of the question at all?

Yup. At Capital Thunder 2 I had the RDS shot out of my P90. It took me a year to find a replacement part.

Duff, you'd be surprised who they sell most of their guns, equipment and even vehicles to.

Maybe not their 'branded' stuff, but certainly the things that are not on the public website.

The branded things are good quality, but like many companies it's made for them. I've seen their wares first hand. Nothing wrong with them at all. More than fine for airsoft.

On a similar note, what's the quality like on the Leapers brand optics that Marstar sells?
Is my assumption that they're more value than quality right?

I just got shot in the scope at my last game actually, I was rather disappointed, thankfully it was from far enough out that it just cracked the front lense, it'll need to be replaced, but it's still useable for now.

I would not fear using the Leapers line with a real gun, so I dont see the problem with airsoft.
The real problem will be parallax errors, but that's another discussion and it's already written down.

Thx Grey. It's always a source of anxiety to see something for sale for a decent price somewhere and not be able to find a review.
It's good to see someone with some know-how's opinion on whether Leapers is worthwhile in text, now if anyone else asks, they can be told to use search. ;)

No problem. And they do stand behind their products IF it's defective. My only advantage here is that I've been to their business place in person (more fun than the War Museum).

This being said, for airsoft, I'm not terribly fussy about what I get for optics. My criteria is simple; if it can be used on a real gun, it's fine for the game.

Some of the worst crap I've seen were scopes made for airsoft only.
