[inquiry]Airsoft Display Wall
 

At my place I have a small room that was originally used to store cold goods. I really don`t know how to say that in english but in french it`s une chambre froide. Anyways, I have since then walled and heated that small room and I now use it to store my bb guns, sword replicas and gun replicas.

Since I dig airsoft, I wish to part myself of those replicas and bb guns and transform the room into an airsoft display room.

I wish to build some sort of display wall to hang the gun collection that I will eventually have.

I`m simply wondering what would be the best display wall construction that you guys could recommend me?

I`ve seen the threaded wall panel with metal hooks and am wondering if it`s by far the best way or if there is a better way.

That room, for my place`s safety is carefully locked by a huge locking bar and lock. The door is a metal door and the room walls beneath the conventional walls are concrete. That small room lays in my basement and has no window. In other words its a small vault.

A walk in refiridgerator, or freezer is probably closest you'd get in English....

Lots of people have discussed this, and peg boards or slat boards work best. Slat boards look better.... The other option would be, if you know you're only going to keep what you have, you could actually make panels for the wall with the appropriate pegs to hold up a specific gun and do it that way... But most people don't keep their guns or get more, or change them around, so that might not be the best option.

My grandmother had a room like that, was just called a "Cold room" where preserves and vegetables were kept etc...

Slat board seems to be the good solution although i prefer peg board for its lightness and its ease of use if you wish to make custom hooks. And peg board costs less, hehehe.

Do you know if peg board as well as pegs are available in local hardware shops?

Home Depot / Reno-Depot / Rona, yes you will be able to get pegboard there. I know for sure that HD carries it in 4x8, 4x4, and 2x4 sizes. 1/8" 4x8 is aporx $10-$12 per sheet at HD.

Not sure about HomeHardware unless you go to a "Building Center" or whatever it's called.

I later realized, while looking for a Home Hardware store that I don't even have one in Montreal... There's a Reno-Depot close to where I live... I'll probably buy a few shets of peg board over there, make myself a frame and hang it in my ex-cold room

The room tends to be humid during summer, would that affect anything on the guns?

More humid then an un airconditioned house? aka condensation on the wall, cloth feels damp, etc....

If yes, then you will want to invest in a dehumidifyer (sp?).
