airsoft gun loudness?

Hey I'm new and doing lots of research and looking at getting into airsoft. I'm curious about the volume of these guns though. How loud is firing an airsoft gun? Is is similar to a CO2 powered pellet gun, quieter, louder? Sorry I searched for this trying to find an answer but couldn't come up with much.

I assume the volume varies depending on the power source for the gun, but for the common ones AEG, gas, spring, what is the volume like? Thanks.

Last file, That is what the average AEG sounds like. Mines upgraded a bit, but also has a suppressor on it.

check in the media section of this very website, search for Opération Quick-Pass. There is a video in there, one of the best airsoft video ever. You will hear what AEG sound during battle.

get torque up gears and your gun will scream like a hungry baby

indoors my G19 was pretty loud. So were my G3SG1 and AUG.

go to a game, hear it in your arms....hear the whizz of bb's as they zip past you...and the snap of them hitting your webbing.....God i love the smell of Napalm in the morning!

this is exactly the kind of information that makes most airsoft reviews useless, and posted information unreliable. please try your best not to post everywhere you possibly can.

as for aeg's, they sound like sewing machines and depending on how well theyre shimmed their volume can vary quite a bit so personal posts (unless theyre of stock guns) will be quite different.

Wow, that's scary stuff. I guess prolonged user of certain airsoft guns can cause hearing damage (above 85db). Some of you guys with AEGs sholdered next to your ears should be careful (of course most people shoot in short bursts).

Guess I'm going to have to fire my P90 single handed like a pistol instead of close to my head! :kill:

Most electric guns sound like a sewing machine on crack. Go to a local game and see for yourself.

Go deaf from GBB? Bahahahaahahahaha!!!!

Maybe if you fired it 1 Million times beside your ear.

This reminds me of the time I was in an airsoft firing range with one of the local snipers. He was busy zeroing his scope so I casually asked him if I could shoot some targets beside him. His rifle was practically inaudiable so I guess he was used to that sound level. My GBB on the other hand, for one reason or another, is one the loudest things I've found in airsoft. In any case, while I emptied my mag into a target (I was testing the piston head on my GBB) he practically jumped out of his boots.
Long story, short: Sound levels are subjective so, as Greylocks repeatedly states, go out to a game to get an idea of the range of noise.

Someone has a butt plug stuck in their...

He asked how loud it can get, i said it gets pretty loud indoors. People downstairs could hear me firing my SG1, and also when i was shooting G19 on proPAIN in the basement (and a M11 on full auto too :D ), everyone upstairs heard me.

PS
Take that butt plug out. ;-)

From far away and especially on camera, you mostly only hear the barrel pop. It sounds vaugely like a machinegun. But up close it soundly like an angry sewing machine.
