ICS M4 spring upgrade or not?
 

I'm new to this site and the sport. Just bought an ICS M4A1. But was wondering if there is anyone out there who either owns one or has used one that would recommend a spring upgrade? because i know with the functioning forawrd assist knob reverses the gears and loosens the spring for easy storage without dryfire, but ive heard that by upgrading the ICS M4 you would need to dry fire then press the forward assits knob.
Anybody recommend anything?

Personally, I wouldnt do anything to the ICS M4. It's pretty damn impressive on its own so in my opinion, you dont really need to. Have you even fired it yet?

If you have not played for even a season, dont even think about modifications. After a while of using it, you will know from experience if you truly need anything. Usually the answer is no.

i have been using my stock ics m4 for a year and a half with no real problems.

Has Anyone tried extending the barrel?

Yes. It's the same as extending the barrel on any gun. Buy a longer one and put it in with a new matching capacity cylinder. But you don't really need to... just get a tightbore.

I heavily second the tightbore thing. The accuracy is increased ALOT, it's really consistant... and I only bought a SystemA barrel.

I was just thinking of upgradeing my Barrel on ICS M4, what should I go with??

The options are written here, just above your post; longer barrel, tightbore barrel, or both with matching mechbox changes.
Best option, if it's not broken, dont fix it.

match the cylinder hole location with the length of barrel you want and you're good to go. If you want to replace the stock barrel, it's length is also listed there.
