totally new to airsoft

hello everyone :)
i have been a paintball player for awhile but I do not like the fact that the guns are unrealistic and you have to wear so much protection. I am a teenager, so my money is not exactly "up there". I would prefer to get a gun in a few months if I start saving now (i have $120). i want a realistic looking gun, and I would probably like a metal one if it is recomended (either G&G or ICS). also, what would be some good atachments? finally, who should i buy from? i was told rangers airsoft?

cheers,

-galen

You have no age poste in your profile so people are going to asume your under age and no one will sell you a gun then.

Amgoosen January 28th, 2006 13:07

oh no....... turn your heads everyone, Galen's about to get torn apart.

Hi,
There is a feast of info within this web arena and others, Might be a good idea to read up and see if you understand the differences between airsoft and paintball and some of the expenditures involved before spending all your allowance.
Look for threads on gun disscusions for info on whats hot and whats not
Enjoy!

I'll save Greylocks some typing since it looks like he quit his info job.

read FAQ. Get registered. Go to Game. Search Forums.

terribly sorry, i am 16 turning 17, when I filled out the form i filled the minimum requirments. Also, at my local field, the age is 14. I am just wondering about a good beginning gun that looks real and will hold up in the cold temperatures.

cheers,

14? oh no, that will definantly not do.

Someone should have a talk with these people.

LucidFox January 28th, 2006 14:13

I'm in the EXACT same age boat as you.

Wait 2 years and get one like I am, unless you get an incredibly low price offer you can't refuse like me. I'll be getting a UTG MP5 but i'm not going to use it due to Underage-ness. I'll upgrade it and stuff but it's not goign to be in commission for 2 years.

Build your own mods, which i'm doing, NOTHING INTERNAL, and just go for it when your 18.Silencer and that's it, nothing big.

Go to games, which i will be doign when the season rings in.

Get to know people in your area. I know Nate and Bean, which are both incredibly nice.

Most importantly WAIT.

Syphen January 28th, 2006 16:27

He said he was 16.. not 14.. he was just saying that his local field allows as young as 14 year olds to play with consent. Read before you post people. jeez.

So I'll take you have a Cyma AEG then?

This sport costs roughly a minimum of 600 dollars to get started.

Galen January 29th, 2006 09:30

I still have a lot of my paintball gear (gloves, outfit, protective glasses) so is not need. what I will need to buy is AEG, battery, AEG add-ons and bbs. :)

cheers,
galen
