best airsoft mp5
Hey guys
Im new here, i am firearm owner but i want to build ONLY ONE airsoft gun to play at the field / shoot in my backyard. I thought about getting a co2 bb sub machine gun but decided to go airsoft. REALLY WANT an mp5 since it is a prohibited firearm in Canada. budget isnt really a problem but dont want to spend 1200$ if possible lol. what i need : reliability accuracy mod possibilities/compatibility (dont know much about internals of airsoft) VFG? g&g? umarex? tm? thanks Vince514 |
if you are looking for an electric, go systema, for gas ones, go WE

thanks for the reply.
WE tech apache a2 or another model would be better? |
G&G MP5's are nice and reliable based on my experience. VFC have excellent externals but internally I heard are a mess to work on.
I have a few people I know of with the WE MP5, and no complaints, they run well. |
G&G TOP TECH is what you want, other ones are the more lesser entry level stuff.
Tw5 by systema will cost you well over $1000. Stay away from classic army. The umarex/vfc have nice externals but will run you $500+ for both gas blowback and electric. WE Apache mp5 are discontinued but if you can find/afford it they require a few upgrades to keep running properly. The vfc gas blowback is similar but they are even more upgrade dependent from what I hear. |
I personally found TM MP5 to be very sharp shooters. CA was ok but TM is far better.
Both TM MP5 i got are the older models. So take my comment with a grain of salt |

This thread is like a dream come true I'm in the hunt for an MP5 as well. I have my eyes set on the G&G TGM A5. Any thoughts on it?

The scope mount claw might also have different dimensions and the handguard might also need modification if you want to switch the handguard. E.g. mp5sd or the a3 handguard. Iirc the internals are interchangable except the gearbox might be specific to g&g guns. I only owned it for about 6 months before parting with it. |
Cyma needs love too
Nobody has mentioned Cyma MP5's so here are my two bits. They are a two pin take down design (I believe) to access your barrel and hop unit. if it's not your primary it's great as a back up secondary and simple to access barrel and hop unit for changes / upgrades, plus they can be found relatively cheap. They used to be available in ABS and the Cyma, JG / Aftermath MP5 variant's were as effective on the field as anything else at a quarter of the cost. The majority of imports are monkey metal now. Cyma MP5K's had a tendency to crack at the front but in some circumstances they can be internally reinforced.
Many people also trust metal Cyma hop units over after market units. I know the Cyma AK hop units are excellent. TM's are / were great, I've owed many but working on them, not to dis the granpappy of airsoft but really...does an aeg need that many screws and when they strip out, puts the F in frustration. |
The G&G toptech MP5 was my first airsoft gun and I still have it many years later. It is completely stock and still shoots like a laser. Can't recommend it enough, especially for indoors.
