AR CADPAT...Availability?

I know that it's possible to get Temperate material in Cordura Nylon. I was wondering if the same is true for Arid Regions CADPAT. If anyone knows, or can point me in a direction, that'd be great. Thanks.

You should send MadMorbius as PM. He knows much about materials and obtaining them and the like.

What do you want exactly ? The material Itself or item made with the CADPAT AR ?

Yeoman December 12th, 2005 00:30

Nearby Surplus has BDU's in AR. But they're different (ie same looking material, different style - I think. Never seen real life AR, assuming it's same style as CADPAT). Zipper, with hoodm two front pockets. Pants are similar to other BDU pants, but can't quite remember. PM me if you're interested, I could pick it up for you and ship it to you.

That would be the Frotenac CADPAT (AR) BDU's. They aren't issued (obviously) but they are made from the real CADPAT (AR) and cut similar to regular BDU.

Just a side note...

MadMorbius December 12th, 2005 08:56

I haven't found a source for AR yet, sorry.

Point_Man December 13th, 2005 07:31

Oh jeez, I hadn't expected this many replies. But thank you all for replying so far :) In answer to a few questions, I'm not looking for BDU's; there are a few surplus stores in Ottawa that sell them. I'm just looking for the material. Not BDU stuff though, but Cordura Nylon with the waterproof coating on the inside. Trying to source some up for a project. Was going to contact you Morbius...guess you've answered already though lol. Thanks anyway. Guess the hunt continues.

Try contacting Droc. He has a few connections as well for obtaining materials.

Dirty Deeds December 13th, 2005 09:05

Or try CP Gear or Tiger Tactical, they might be able to sell you some or send you in the right direction....maybe??

Jackals December 13th, 2005 09:54

Since your in Ottawa, JT's carries AR as well as the Army Surplus store in Hull carrys them.

Jackals - Are you saying they sell Cordura nylon by the yard?

What he said :) Seriously...I hope this is good news...

Gentlemen,

Although I cannot speak for other manufacturers my contract (which is probably the same for everyone) with DND does not allow me to sell "unapproved" items. I have to submit samples of my goods to DND prior to selling. Hence, "custom" work and "raw materials" in CadPat, for legitimate sale seems suspect to me.

So I believe CadPat yardgoods will be hard to get legally.

Kind Regards
Brian Kroon
