Best mp5 to upgrade ?

Sorry if this should be in the noob section. I want to start a mp5 aeg project.

Upgrade it to be the best cqb machine I can get it to be.

What's the best platform that won't give me issues upgrading externally and internally?

I heard Vfc and g&g have proprietary parts that make it a bit more complicated and ICS JG and cyma are good.

VFC mp5.

Beautiful externals. Proprietary parts aren't a big enough issue to overlook them.

except that the mechanical burst has proprietary gears which fuck it up if you try and put a regular gear set in there if you want rof/trigger response improvements. A spectre does not fit so it limits your choices for high end builds.

I've worked on 2 g&g mp5s, 1 cyma and 1 ics. They really are all pretty well the same in terms of ease of disassembly. The ICS had the nicest internals, but I think they are a bit more money upfront depending on the model you buy.

I've got a friend who has a classic army mp5, It has been the best looking mp5 I've seen so far. Can't comment on the internals as I've never opened one.

depends on what kind of upgrade you have in mind. I have worked on both Classic Army and TM. The differences were not that much. In terms of internal upgrades anything TM based should be ok-ish. Just avoid extra weird moving parts. Remember that finding parts for charging handle would be tough so do not break it.

As for externals, you are totally fine, the enternals are nearly identical.

Im using a busted up antique CA MP5.
Needed some stuff glued down bc of a dumb barrel design, buts a full fledged DMR.
