You might be hard pressed to find something like that.

Go into a tack store, where they sell horse stuff, or into a custom boot maker most should be able to make that if you show them a picture and give them the size you want.

ya, I received a pm from a guy thats friend does custom pouches, thanks.

That is probably the only route you can go. I've been around enough surplus to know your not goin' to find anythin' German that will fit a M14 mag...well.

Another option is to go with a Russian Grenade pouch (The fit won't be too nice) as German soldiers commonly picked them up for their own use. Another way to go is a BAR ammo pouch, but I'm not sure about the size of a M14 mag.

ya... I think I will go with the custom pouch, I just hope its not too damn expensive...

firemachine69 November 16th, 2005 22:45

What? Gear is NEVER too expensive! :D

tiger-unit November 17th, 2005 01:13

hah..I wish you were right..I just spent quite a bit of cash on a repro German uniform..so im hoping custom leather pouches wont be too expensive..

Depends on the quality...listen, the more they are, the more impressed others will be an' the happier you will be. I swear by quality, as you may or may not have noticed :)

Unless you are hell bent on that particular look, check out pouches designed for the FN-FAL mags.

couldnt find much at all...

My brother modded some G 43 pouches like shown to fit M 14 mags. The only problem is the M14 mag is a bit "tall" so you have to make a new notch in the leather strap that closes on the front.

Which is easy since the tabs are long on most G43 pouches anyway and I think it looks great. I can get some pictures if you really want.

ohh nice, pics would be great, thanks.

Sorry this took so long. I thought I could use my friends digital camera but that never worked out so I tried to scan it. But my scanner was broken and I didn't even know it. So i searched and found my old scanner in the basement but then it needed it's software and the mess goes on and on.

But here finally it is. Hope this makes things clearer. The distance from the centre of the top hole to the new bottom hole is about 3.5 cm

Obviously this is the canvas variation of the pouch. The left side is unedited. Reason being mein Bruder doesn't have more then 2 mags. So it gives you a nice before and after kind of thing. On the right is with a TM M14 mag in the pouch. Depth wise the mag fits almost perfect. Width wise there is about 1 cm of spare room. As long as the strap stays buckled there is no way it can fall out or anything.

Hole made with a small drill bit and then an awl.

Any other questions? No we're not selling it lol
