Anyone have experience with Lonex guns?
I was looking at a Lonex L4-11 today that looked pretty nice, but I haven't heard much about the brand. Does anyone have any experience with them? Is it a good gun for $425?
|
There are a lot of good guns in that price range.
Lonex makes some prety decent quality internals. I would assume the internals are rick solid. I can't say about the externals but you held it so if it seemed solid it likely is. |
Just got a L4-07 the Sopmod version recently. Haven't had the chance to shoot it yet but solid externals. No squeaks or rattles.
I'll try to answer any questions if you have any. Kinda new to this so bear with me. |
Is that a full metal model as well?
Can I ask how much you paid? It's tough to compare because I can't find many online retailers that sell them. |

Based on what has been said here and a bit of Google reading their guns are of decent quality. So either a lonex gun or say a VFC, both will put you in about the same price range. VFC likely a bit nicer outside lonex a bit better inside. |

I'll send you a PM with the price. |
Yours is blowback? It doesn't say anything about that in the literature...

So how much does blowback affect durability and reliability? Does it consume more battery power?

Not sure about durability since I just got it about a week ago. Too early to tell. |
Typically it's harder on the gun than not having it. It's a cool feature, but that's all it is.

So I went back to Trigger and compared the Lonex directly with the VFC at the same price point. The Lonex was the non blowback version which is fine with me.
The VFC came with nice rail covers, whereas the Lonex only came with a foregrip which seemed a bit cheap, but we already have a variety of foregrips at home, so that doesn't matter. The metal bodies seemed almost identical, and I couldn't see any flaws in fit or finish on either. I liked the stock on the Lonex much better. The VFC stock had quite a bit of wobble to it, but the Lonex was rock solid in every position. Overall I liked the Lonex a bit better, even though I would have preferred rail covers over a foregrip, but I can buy whatever rail covers I like with the price difference between the two. So I have bought my first airsoft gun...a Lonex L4-11! I declined to buy a battery from them because they were still pushing the 11.1v LiPo, and I am still not convinced it is a good idea, and when I asked how much a 7.4v would be, he said all batteries were the same price...$40. He wouldn't even give me a deal when I was spending almost $500 on a gun! |
Buy your batteries and chargers from hobbyking.com
Look at the Turnigy-Nanotech lipo batteries. (7.4v - 1200mah) should be perfect. They're only about $10 US. Also invest in an IMAX B6 balance charger, which is only about $35 there versus $80 here. Make sure to order everything from the US WAREHOUSE option, or it could come from Asia and take a long ass time. This is my recommendation anyways, but many will back me up on this. |
Thanks, I will check it out. I do have a LiPo charger that came with my R/C helicopter, as well as a NimH charger from my r/c cars. They should do the job for now.

Hey I'm in Vancouver right now and might be able to sell you some extra lipos that I have kicking around. They're random 7.4V's from Hobbyking (Turnigy nanotech) that I just have in a box somewhere, they're already fitted with Deans connectors.
My other hobbies and work have been keeping me busy. I haven't been out to a game for at least a year now so could part with some stuff. Just PM me. |
