M4-S system Can you do a metal body?
 

Just wanted to clarify but is it possible to convert the M4-S to a metal body?
I confirmed with one person that its possible but just wanted to make sure

will need MAJOR modification of the metal body and a dremel will probably not be sufficient for the job... the top rail is integrated in the top part of the receiver and screwed there... the standart metal body has a fixhed hollowed rail that sitch there.... Removing the rail to fit the M$-SIR top rail will most probably split the upper receiver. SO IMO tyou would have to mill out the lower part of the top SIR rail to fit ontop of the M4 metal body rail and install a few screws....One hell of a job, but yeah it "can" be done....just don't expect to make the permenant modification in one evening and without the proper machinery.

This is all theorical at best and should not be used as a can be done answer. I could probably do it but I have access to a fully tooled machine shop


In the end unless someone actually make a metal upper for the system S rather stick with the plastic body.

Your M4-S seems to be really troublesome since it can only use a rare metal body done by 1 company.
