Question about prices
Hey,
Another newbie question, but could someone explain to me why the hell GBB pistols are almost as much as some AEG's? |
Because you're looking at mid-range or lower end AEG's
Compare low end AEG's to low end pistols, you'll understand. |

Don't look at stupid places like MilSig for pistol price comparison, they charge 500% mark ups. lol. P.S. Full Pistol setup, + holster + mags = price of a VFC AEG. |
And, if you're looking at brands like western arms, that's an allegedly "high end" brand....or at least priced like a high end brand....

Size is not indicative of how hard something is to manufacture, and that is what usually dictates price.

pistols are expensive in Canada...
they so much cheaper in the states..but you can't legally import them because of their FPS rating XD I bought my KJW M9 for $110 new and a $36 mag...ended up with $175 because of shipping...shipping is also expensive in Canada as well.. wanted to switch to a glock for awhile now, but the price tag is like NOOooo. around 200 |

There are far more manufacturers of AEGs and that's where the biggest market competition is. Besides, the basic Tokyo Marui model of AEG has been around a long time. Pistols are a little more intricate and have fewer good manufacturers.

where as we probably don't export enough to have that advantage.. but for us to compare to USA, our shipping is ridiculous...I'm guessing our infrastructure is worse? idk... anyway...pistols are about right when you compare to AEGs. Usually it seems it's around $100 difference between USA and Canada for AEG, which is pretty true for pistols as well...so..probably because import tax? |
You folks do know that large companies & associations have negotiated bulk freight rates?
So when eHobby ships their rate is based on their traffic vs. yours which is just one. The bigger you are the better your deal is. |
