More efficent TM P226
 

I got a TM P226. It's got some miles on it. After all this time is seems to have lost some of its gas efficiency. (I'm taking into account recent cold weather)

I just want parts that fit together well and reliably. Anyone with any TM P226 experience please chime in.

It has a Nineball piston head but inside the stock loading nozzle it fits loose. The nozzle slides very very easily over it and I can't seem to find a larger o-ring that won't jam it.

Tried a PDI piston head and it is too large for the nozzle.

I'm not sure if the loading nozzle is the culprit but purple Nine ball buckings seem to get deformed after a bit. (have been through 3)

Tried a Maple Leaf 75 degree bucking but the BB's just rolled out. Major loss of FPS.

All my mags have Nine Ball Gas Route Sealing Rubbers.

If I could get a stock TM loading nozzle set I'd try it but can't seem to source it.

I'm tempted to try other aftermarket loading nozzles but am unsure which ones will fit since I'm having trouble finding the right combination of parts to get it at its sweet spot.

Yup those will help with gas use/efficiency. Are they new?

Also even if you have 0 hop on, your hopup rubber should hold a BB. And even if they are a small amount of hop should prevent that. Are you sure you're installing them correctly?

New-ish. A year old? When I installed them I noticed an immeiate difference, Great little guys.

Yup. I'm aware of that. The maple bucking was allowing BB's to just roll out until I gave it more hop. Still killed fps. The Nineballs and modify ones I've installed work fine. Just the previous mentioned issue with the Nine-Balls.

What? The hop-up buckings? Yeah, I'm pretty sure I am.

See if your piston he's o ring fits nicely in the nozzle or if it has shrunk. I remove the nozzle, stick the piston head in, block the gas intake with my finger and blow into the front of the nozzle to see if its sealing properly.

I just tried it. Piston head can easily be blown through the back.

If your Nineball piston head is the DYNA one, the red one with all the holes, it's supposed to be loose. The idea is that the O-ring is self expanding once gas enters the loading muzzle and piston head kicks in. The piston head will kick in the seals when gas travels inside those holes and blow the oring up from beneath thereby creating the "perfect" seal.

I think you might actually have an issue with the Nineball gas routers. If they are too raised, they can impede the stroke of the slide because the loading muzzle will have a hard time passing it.

The ninball buckings have definitely declined in their quality these days. The casting mold they use and how old and worn it must be is definitely showing. A lot of those that i received looked exarcly like the ones you pictured. So it might not be the loading muzzle at all. In fact i cant see it being the cause of that issue.

I test fired the gun again and noticed it felt like it wasn't striking the mag valves properly. I tried all 5 mags I have and it all turned out the same.

Cracked the hammer assembly open and it's broken in there.
