AK "Krinkov"
I've got an old back issue of "Soldier of Fortune" that I kept for a good article on combat shotgun techniques. One of the regular articles in the magazine back then was "Full Auto" by Peter Kokalis, basically a short review of some sort of automatic weapon.
This particular issue featured the "Okie Krinkov", a customized short AK varient made by a gunsmith in Oklahoma (Okie for Oklahoma, Krinkov because for some reason that's a Western term for AK shorties, not used in Russia as far as I can tell). Here is a crappy scan of the AK from the origional article: http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...t/Krinkov1.jpg And here is my airsoft version: http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...t/Krinkov2.jpg All in all not bad for a first attempt at tinkering with airsoft, at least in my opinion! I have since re-converted the Krinkov back to it's origional form of an AK 47S, still have all the parts somewhere if I ever want to switch it back. |
Sweet.
That would be sexy even if it wasnt based on anything. |
Yeah, the whole shorty AK is a sweet look (shorty AK-s)
|
Is it me or the scan pic looks like it sports a M16 mag?
|
If I remember correctly from the article, it's a 20 rd AK magazine. I'll see if I can find the origional article and check to be sure. Maybe I'll try to scan a better quality picture of the origional article while I'm at it too.

Looks like a Mx mag... but you're the one with the article.
|
that is one fine piece of machinery. It's a shame you put it back to the normal AK. That one is just so darned pretty.
Im a sucker for brunettes... and... shorty ak's. |
Found the article, it has a 20 rd AK magazine. Probably resembles an M16 magazine due to it being shorter than a 30 rd AK mag and due to the crappy image quality. I had to make do with a 250 rd AK highcap.
Also hard to tell in the origional picture but the real one has an AKM style pistol grip instead of the typical AK 47 pistol grip. I made it back into a normal AK 47S mainly to have the longer inner barrel for outdoor games and for my VC/NVA outfit. Like I said, I still have all the shorty parts somewhere if I ever want to change it back. For what it's worth, I also made myself a stockless Beta-Spetznaz so I didn't really need two short-barrelled AK's. |
I currently have a stockless ak47. formerly a full stock until a freak accident at a game "custom" modded it! haha I'm waiting for my guarder kit now.
