Do drum magazines count as real-cap or high-cap
hi guys I had a simple question. are drum magazines considered high-cap mags? or are they real-cap? I just wanted to know if you could use them in games requiring only real-cap mags
Thanks in advance. |
They're generally considered hi-caps and some games have restrictions on how/who can use them (i.e., in a real-cap game they're usually restricted to support weapons and special rules may apply to them, such a how many BBs can be use in them).
But each group/organizer/game can set rules as they see fit, so you need to check with them. |
"Usually" restricted to proper LMGs only. Even high cap magazines (approximately 300 rounds) are banned or restricted at most games.

Well that clears that up, makes sense I suppose. Thanks for the info Ricochet, much obliged!

If you're playing weekend pickup games most places don't usually care unless it's a special event or the organizer wants to setup the game/experience for a certain kind of player.
If you're going for a milsim it's usually a no go, daysims or shorter half day scenarios it might have special rules (eg. must take out mag before winding the hicap then reload or something). |
Some airsoft guns have drum mags whose real-world counterparts don't have drums avail as well. The skorpion comes to mind. No real drum mag for that one lol.

I kinda want a drum mag for giggles.
